Adell could help the team be a playoff contender for a decade. The pitcher we would get for him , would likely help the team for probably  half a decade or possibly less. So no on Adell being traded. Same for Marsh. Anyone else in the organization, ok.

No thanks, he had the lowest BABIP among qualified relievers which means he's actually been extremely lucky and was still not very good last season.

Signing Addison Russell at this point would be the equivalent of an NFL team signing Colin Kaepernick. Way too many off the field issues. He's a distraction more than he's an asset.

listen, i'm the fair minded guy that gives you the benefit of the doubt. hell, i even agree with you from time to time. but if you're going to ignore the point i made by only responding to half my statement, then what's the point?
as i said, originally, hitters will allow the advantage of pine tar used by pitchers because they know it's not about competitive advantage, it's about grip. the hitters would prefer not to have out of control 96 mph heaters coming at their head. the point is, although it is ultimately against the rule book, it's not being done for cheating's sake.

pine tar is not the same thing by any stretch. hitters allow pitchers to usepine tar because they know it's about control of the ball, rather than designed cheating. are hitters allowing the pitchers a little bit of an an advantage with the tar? yes, but not because of altruism, rather they'd prefer not to be drilled in the head by a pitcher who's lost grip due to sweat. 

Mike Trout just signed an extension for a boat load of cash so he must have faith in the direction the Angels are headed. After all these years you're ready to jump ship? After all these years I'm excited that the Angels have an owner who is willing to open his check book and a farm system that's on the rise. Good times are coming but if the Yankees look more appealing then by all means jump on that bandwagon.

i feel pretty good about my take on this one. i believe that is still true. unfortunately, injuries have set him back tremendously. i suppose in hindsight you'd trade for a different prospect, but you'd still be correct in trading howie for a pitching prospect.

how many Cubs games have you watched?  I think people would end up very disappointed with that trade.  Contreras skill behind the dish are pretty lacking.  There's a reason they're considering moving him in a trade.
