my wife and daughter are both pretty insistent that the halos keep wade on the big club. i mean like pitchforks and torches kind of insistent.
and i'm beginning to become highly suspicious that it has little to do with his play on the field at this point, either.

itsKnoppUitsme reacted to JoJo26 in Patrick O’Neil and Gubi are going to Houston to call the games in person
I grew up with Enberg & Drysdale in the booth. Bob Starr, Joe Buttitia, etc.
I liked Steve Physioc & the Hud man - and hated Victor Rojas & Gubi. But - that pair grew on me like 2 dudes hanging out talking baseball & I was the third wheel.
When Victor left to gain experience on being a GM - the Halos fudged up the process. Patrick O'Neil is fine. He loves the Halos & he's knows the sport. He's getting better
At least he's there live - not in Jersey watching on his TV.
KINGS fans hate Alex Faust (cuz he's no Bob Miller) but as soon as the team has the "national broadcasters" on TNT or ESPN - fans can't wait to have Alex & Jim Fox back.
I blame the Bally's joke of a set up & Arte the cheapy...Over pays for old players yet effs over his own minor leaguers.

Saw a thing on Reddit the other day. Russia has their Wagner group of mercs, and someone (I believe an American) put together a merc group to assist Ukraine, and named it Mozart. (True story)
And in the comment section, when people were talking it up as a great troll job, someone wrote "Ill be Bach"... genius.

Maybe God told him to leave her, and then after the next 10 years of being a terrible partner he'll return to her.

I could feel this Move coming watching yesterday's Game. Chemistry and talent was evident with Adell and Marsh in the inning when Marsh homered. Ward has also been playing well. Needed to do this now.

Can see it now.... Day after he's hired, he asks Scioscia to come back as his bench coach.... Then when the Angels win the WS, a new generation of Angels fans can talk about how the real reason they won the WS was the bench coach....

itsKnoppUitsme reacted to jsnpritchett in Angels sign Michael Lorenzen (1 year, $6.75 million)
Beats me. I just know that the defense was bad last year (yes, in part because Rendon wasn't around--but even he wasn't good defensively when he was active). I definitely don't want Fletcher moving to SS, though. That much I know...The improvement could come in the positioning/shifting.

itsKnoppUitsme reacted to Docwaukee in Angels sign Aaron Loup (2 years, $15 million + $7.5M club option/$2M buyout), DFA Yan
I guess I like the player although the move is puzzling to me. It's not like he's an elite reliever and had an elite season at age 33. So a decent add depending on his potential role but damn if he's not a potential poster child for pen volatility. And I agree that Iglesias is likely out as I don't see them spending 25 mil on two pen arms. let alone 17-18m on one. So maybe Syndergaard is an upgrade over Cobb and maybe Loup is good enough to where that upgrade off sets the downgrade from Iglesias.
So the net result so far at 28.5 mil is probably a break even? Maybe.
Anyway, I understood the Syndergaard move and it made me think I kinda understood where they might be going. With this move I'm now back to being fully confused. It's got the potential to mean that they're about to go huge on spending or it means they're about to do some really stupid crap. Or I guess it could mean that they'll leave the team unfinished
