AngelsFaninGA reacted to Scott34 in Ken Rosenthal: Dipoto said they're interested in Matt Garza
Please don't ruin this week by throwing 80M+ at Garza.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from HaloCory22 in Official Mark Trumbo Trade Chatter (DEAL DONE)
Now lets not ruin this by signing Garza.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to stevestevens in If we were to get Colon, can...
I would be ok if his contact states that he HAS to use steroids but if he were to get caught, his contract would be voided.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to mtangelsfan in Jerome Williams non-tendered
So they tender Jespen and don't tender Jerome.
Sigh. I really don't like Dipoto.
Regardless, best of everything to Jerome, one of the classiest, most easy guys to root for.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from Carlos in Angels sign Joe Smith
Somehow, someway, this will backfire.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to Docwaukee in If Trumbo is traded who is the DH?
you know it would totally be Shuck.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to jsnpritchett in UPDATE: The Colorado Rockies & Angels Trade Talks Cool - Rockies Pursue Justin Morneau
Predictions:
1. Nothing will happen.
or...
2. If an Angels/Rockies trade does happen, we won't be happy with it.
I'm the next Jon Heyman.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from Jim in Article on Peter Gammons' site
Freese's average with RISP the last 2 years is .275 and .238, both below his season average for those two seasons. His career slash line is significantly buoyed by his .354 line with RISP in 2011, and it has gone down considerably since then. One season does not make you clutch. Saying Freese knows how to drive in the important runs is like saying GMJ knows how to make the important catches. In fact, this trade reeks of GMJ - trading for a guy with 1 (or in Freese's case, 2, defining plays, and an otherwise mediocre resume).

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from ELEVEN in Bourjos traded to Cardinals
So to recap, this trade sucks.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from Vladdylonglegs in For those who support the trade
This trade didn't improve the starting pitching, the bullpen, or the defense. The bullpen and defense have arguably gotten worse through this trade, and our ability to acquire pitching has also been hampered by trading away one of our key pieces that could have been used. I guess the goal is win games 11-10.

Awesome, so getting robbed in one trade has set us up perfectly to get robbed in another trade. I like it.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to bloodbrother in Bourjos traded to Cardinals
Cards get younger, Halos get older. Cards defense improves, Halos gets worse. Cards get a young OF prospect with massive raw power who is still developing, Halos get a 29 year old run of the mill reliever
the difference between these 2 orgs really showed in this trade.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from SoWhat in Angels interested in Arroyo
I think he'd work well as a #9 starter.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from Oz27 in Rumor only: Indians acquire Trumbo for Kluber?
Lol, and people thought we could get something decent for Trumbo. If we do trade him, it will be for a Kluber-type player.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to jshep in The Marlins are looking at Mark Trumbo
Who's talking about trading a young middle of the order power hitter?
We're talking about trading Mark Trumbo, not whoever that is.

AngelsFaninGA reacted to xboom28x in Robert Coello Elects Free Agency
He wasn't going to make or break this bullpen.
That said, I find it interesting how much trash DiPoto claims on waivers only to let this guy go who at least shows flashes of solid pitching.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from FireThemAll in Angels Official Website: Angels claim lefty reliever Carson from Mets
Remember when Gutierrez, Stange, Rasmus, etc, were rejects? Oh wait, they still are. For every De la Rosa, there are 5 guys who cost you games while you're evaluating them on the mound (Remember Stange giving up that walk-off 3-run homer in that back-breaking loss against the Rangers?). I'd rather sign someone who, you know, is actually good to begin with so you don't have to play Russian roulette with every acquisition.

AngelsFaninGA got a reaction from Jim in Breaking: Eppard and Picciolo let go - Scioscia and Dipoto staying
He was dealt a bad hand and, whether or not he was directly responsible for it, it became worse while he was the pitching coach. Frieri's ERA went from 2.32 to 3.80. Blanton's ERA went from 4.99 to 6.04. Hanson's ERA went from 4.48 to 5.42. Jepsen's ERA went from 3.02 to 4.50. Though Gutierrez already sucked, his ERA went from 3.38 to 5.19. Meanwhile, the only player who made any kind of meaningful improvement was De La Rosa. No one's expecting bad players to somehow magically become good, but we saw multiple players, good and bad, fail to maintain career norms and experience significant dropoff, and that could very well be a coaching issue.
