The Mariners…. Idk what the hell it is but everything is going right for them the past couple years… sure they have some decent to good players but I don’t look at the roster and think playoff team. The angels should be much better than them, why can’t this stupid franchise put together a small run to at least get us excited?

It's purely our pitching. Both starting and bullpen.

We churn out starting pitchers (Logan Gilbert, Kirby, Bryce Miller, Bryan Woo, Emerson Hancock) and good relievers.

Starters are 4th in WAR. Relievers also 4th in WAR.

    Angels 12th and 27th respectively.

It’s one game.  A little winning streak changes everything.  How about we get lucky for a while.

It's this. For all you know you could sweep the remaining 3 against us this series..

Sucks ass to lose like ya did .... I would have punched my monitor probably but it's still just the first game of a 4 game set.

If I were you I'd nervously step off the ledge.

At least your team tried to get better at the deadline (well more than tried, they did) ...

Astros pitching staff was already probably the best in the AL, as much as Verlander makes them a tougher playoff team their biggest needs are on the offensive side.

MIN, TBR and SEA all ahead of them by WAR in the AL.

Verlander is 40 and K/9 down below 8 now and BB/9 nearing 3. I'm not even that concerned about him or Scherzer entering the AL West.

I mean it likely makes HOU and TEX better, but they arent unstoppable aces anymore.

Elvis Peguero vs. Elly de la Cruz. But was it fake or rigged?

I looked in awe as de la Cruz recently stole 2nd, 3rd and home on four pitches from Elvis. Showed the hilight to my girlfriend who said, it was rigged. The pitcher let him do it. The catcher soft-tossed the ball to Peguero, who stupidly, or deliberately turned his back on de la Cruz, allowing him to come home easily.

There are fake things in sports and MLB and other leagues are always looking for the new sensation. Does anyone think Peguero, a former Angels' pitcher and from the Dominican, like de la Cruz, allowed Elly to score? I know very little about Peguero. Is he the slug that he looked like in these clip?

This is the dumbest thing I have read today, on 7/11, in the year of our lord 2023.

It was a tie game in the 7th, against division rivals, who are now within a game of each other. He just caught the pitcher napping and walking back to the mound with his back turned.

Just watched Jon Morosi cover the angels on MLB network, it’s good to put things in perspective sometimes. He still seems to think the angels are in the thick of the wild card race and just need to weather this storm for a couple more weeks until we can get relatively healthy.

he also seemed relatively optimistic about Adell and Moniak. He also mentioned how losing 3 stars over the course of 2 days is just unheard of.

I know it feels like we are spiraling around the drain and I think we are, but if we can stay a float for a few more weeks maybe once everyone is healthy we can take off and secure a wild card spot.

3 stars? I only counted 2. Ohtani andTrout.

  6. Your recent string hasn't been great but I think you'll be ok. You'll have to fight for the wildcard though. The division is the Rangers now ... Houston still annoying ... The mariners are a gigantic mess and will finish below .500 leading to the firing of Dipoto and Servais (I can't wait)

As with most teams you just need to stay healthy ... Which is obviously easier said than done.
