Ventura is having a pretty good season himself and Vargas hasn't been bad either. IN a 5 game series, they have better starting pitching currently than we do.

You guys are forgetting Danny Duffy as well, who has a mid-2.00 ERA on the season. He is just coming back from injury though, so hopefully that could go in our favor. But I'd assume he'd start game 1 with Shields pitching the wild card game and Ventura pitching today.

He has not even stepped on a mound yet. He's not that close even.
He may pitch but right now I would not count on it.

Pitching is by far the most important thing in any playoff run. In the regular season and oh might come back if you find yourself in a hole but it's much harder in the postseason. So we need quality starts from our rotation and a lock down bullpen.
Great pitching almost always beats great offense.

I keep hearing about "punishing" the WC teams.  WTF is the point of having a team get into the playoffs and then punishing them?  
 
I liked the WC with one team.  Two is pushing it.  I don't want to see the MLB playoffs turn into the Stanley Cup tournament.  

Playing and staying Oakland has given Weaver and Trout the runs.

And if we don't win the World Series this season as the favorites we should fire Scioscia.

If the Angels win the World Series, they should fire Mike Scioscia in the offseason to reduce the chance of sucking in 2015 (like 2003).

Get cable for the few weeks that you'll need it for the playoffs. Then, get rid of it. It will save you money and probably a few pounds for all of the money you'll be spending at the sports bar and all of the beer you'll be drinking and chicken wings you'll be eating.

I really don't care what we do against Lester today. The only important aspect of today's game is Santiago not shitting the bed. That's it.
