Can someone please explain to me why Boesch is in the lineup. Fletcher said this is a possible Game 1 ALDS lineup and with the AB's Boesch has been getting down the stretch he's obviously playing in the postseason.

What am I missing? The guy has more strikeouts (17) than hits (13) in his 68 AB's. it's not like he's walking either with only 3 walks. Hitting .191 I just can't wrap my head around this. May as well be playing in a NL park as far as I'm concerned.

Overs/unders on how many games the A's win in Tejas?

Game 1

Athletics: LHP Scott Kazmir (14-9, 3.63) is 0-4 with an 8.58 ERA over his past six starts and has the second-highest ERA in the majors since the All-Star break.

Rangers: RHP Nick Tepesch (5-10, 4.14) has a 2.96 ERA in four September starts.

I love this a lot. Cy Tepesch. Hope he sucks next year though.

I think he is blackmailing Sosh (only explanation I can render)

to start this is a throw away game but more importantly is Hamilton is not doing well with his shoulder so Boesch is a left handed power bat off the bench. He probably will not be part of the playoff starting roster but his at bats now prepare him for MLB pitching.

You can't be so nearsighted when looking at the lineup card and forget there is more than tonight's outcome that is the coaches focus.

I see your point but at this point i'd like to think they have a decent idea of what BB can do. If he isn't going to be on the playoff roster don't you think his AB's would be better off going to someone who is going to be on the playoff roster? Especially with a 3 day break between Sundays game and game 1 of the ALDS

re: Boesch- I was watching the video from the 2011 game vs. the Tigers that Jered Weaver got ejected from for buzzing Avila. It was funny to see Boesch on the other side partaking the Tigers butthurtedness over something they started.

The Angels haven't had a brawl in a while.

Weaver should bean him tonight, that will get him out of the line up

Sosh has missed watching a crappy left handed power bat ever since Raul got canned and Josh got hurt. It brings him comfort.
