I don't want any more guesswork.  For example, we sign Kim, what if he doesn't hit?  For the money invested in him, we could sign Wong, a gold glove 2B.  Plus, we seem to have pretty good luck with former St. Louis second basemen.

Morton is not leaving the east coast.  If he pitches at all next year, it will be for the Mets, Yankees, or Phillies.

I would really like this.  Eddie Bane finds pitchers like no other.  If scouting and player development is the direction that we want to go, this would be a great hire.

I would have claimed him.  Maybe he will get a long term offer from us.  Bauer and Hand would make a great offseason.

I said basically the same thing to a friend yesterday.  The Dodgers always seem to find guys like Bellinger (3rd round), and May (3rd round).  Bellinger was right under our noses, living in Arizona.
Scouting, especially locally, and in South America, needs to drastically improve.

Byrnes and White are the most familiar names.  Both were in the Dodgers org, IIRC.  In any case, someone is coming in to a pretty good situation.  
The new guy will also have the 9th selection in the first round of the entry draft next year. From there, we should be able to add another polished power arm.

There is no chance Simmons gets a QO.  DJ LeMahieu made 12 mil last year, hit .364, and he won't get one.  
That being said, I'd rather give a long term deal to LeMahieu to be our 2B, than to give Simmons one, especially after Simmons opted out with a week to go.

I thought there was no way that Walsh would overtake Thaiss and Ward.  It seems now that he has done so, and easily.  
Also, the adjustment quieting the hands definitely worked.  Good fastballs used to get past him, or he was late.  Not anymore.

This is what is nice about message boards, Game 6.  You are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine.  
I am merely stating that the player is a free agent, has local roots, and would fill an area of need for the team.  
If ownership wants to make that commitment, it is solely up to them.  All any of us do is purchase the product. 

Too bad we couldn't see C. Rod, Detmers, or Big K instead of a 60 game season of Teheran.  Those guys are showing some really plus pitches.
