We were in it, so it automatically beats the last 4 years. Even as bad as we choked.

I have loved these playoffs. 1, the Angels were actually in them. 2, I got to see the Cardinals lose. 3, the Royals actually made the WS, thats pretty cool. 4, the Giants could get their 3rd championship in 5 years, good for them.

Must win game. I go with Bumgarner over anyone in baseball. He is the best when it matters.

halobob got a reaction from DB24 in The Official Anaheim Ducks 2014-15 Thread
www.dreamtix.com is by far the cheapest site I've seen for Ducks (and Kings, Lakers, Clippers for that matter). the site itself is really crappy but I dont care cuz its cheaper than everywhere else. some really big $$ savings on the more expensive seats than stubhub and a couple bucks cheaper on the cheap seats than stubhub. They have a pair of tix for tomorrows Ducks game for $7 per ticket, 4 pack for $8 per ticket etc. They even have the 412 that the earlier poster had mentioned for $17 per ticket. My buddy picked up 204 row B there for tomorrow for $54 ea.
edit: forgot to mention I've gotten unreal deals on premier level seats from this site ex:
1.lakers opener PR1 row 7 is 180 per on dreamtix and same seats on stubhub are 202.05 and still cheaper than the cheapest PR18 row 12 for 194.28 on stubhub
2. clippers opener PR1 row 10 is 88 per on dreamtix and same seats on stubhub are 99.93 on stubhub
3. kings sunday vs. columbus pr 17 row 6 is 55 per on dreamtix and same seats are 63.85 on stubhub (oh premiers are $129.50 if you buy from the kings website)
Apparently I have too much time on my hands today.

I read he was escorted out during the game after Haden told security guards to escort him out. Apparently he was yelling that Sark should be fired.

I don't know why in n out fries get so much hate. They taste good and are fresh....what's not to like. They taste like fries you would make at home yourself, instead of the ones at mcdonalds that look and taste like they were made in a printing press

halobob got a reaction from UndertheHalo in Dodgers Nightmare > Angels Nightmare
There is 0 chance the halos nightmare is worse than the Dodgers. Dodgers were WS or bust this year and now their main rival is playing to see who advances to the WS. The Angels exceeded expectations greatly by finishing with the best record in the AL and bowing out in the 1st round. As an Angel fan I would consider this a rather successful season considering how I thought the team was going to perform coming into the season. On the other hand, Dodgers fans have to consider this season a failure. Winning the division (or at least making the playoffs) was a foregone conclusion, so to be knocked out the way they were, with Kershaw melting down in the 7th inning twice, yeah, I'd say the Dodgers nightmare is much, much worse than the Angels nightmare.

halobob reacted to Jeff Fletcher in 4 favorites out...
I refuse to believe there are any "elements" that help you win in the playoffs besides the normal things you need to have a good team (ie pitching, hitting and defense).
You can look back afterward and say "oh this team won because they did x." But you don't need to do x to win. Because in another series, the team won because they did y. And in another series it was because of z.
So you need x or y or z, but none of those mean anything because sometimes you do x and the other team does y and in their series y beats x.
It's like a big game of rock, paper scissors.
These short series really are crap shoots. What if Aoki doesn't make either of those circus catches in the first game? What if Cowgill beats that play at 3b in game 2? Guessing either of those wins the game for the Angels. Did they suddenly have more of grit/determination/confidence/balls?
They are coin flips. Entertaining coin flips.

halobob reacted to Angelsjunky in "They aren't trying, or don't care"
OK, this has been bothering me for a bit now. Whenever the Angels lose there's the predictable refrain of, "They look they aren't trying out there, like they don't care." Not only the team as a whole but individual players (especially Hamilton).
I just don't get this. Of course they are trying, of course they care. I imagine that Josh Hamilton cares a lot more than people realize, and that his poor performance is eating him up. Not performing well does not automatically mean they aren't trying or don't care. To me this feels like an excuse, something to the effect of "They're not doing well so obviously not trying, because if they cared they'd win." That's just wrong on so many levels.
Trying and caring is not the same as having heart, moxie, mojo, chutzpah, that special spark - all of which comes about when your effort and talent merge in such a way that is almost magical. In other words, its when you're able to break through the struggle and find a way to win again. The Angels weren't able to do that, but it doesn't mean they didn't care or weren't trying. I mean, sure, maybe they could have cared more, or maybe this or that player could have run a tad harder to first. But I'm not sure it would have made a difference. In other words, they didn't lose because of a lack of effort or care.
I think the most we could say is that maybe the Angels were too complacent, they didn't take the Royals seriously enough, and thought they could roll right through them. But even that I doubt. Maybe the first game, but not the second and third.
I get it. People are looking for excuses and/or angry and want to blame someone. But let's be clear: the Angels tried and they certainly do care. They just didn't have that special something that makes a champion.
