If Butcher went after Blanton for simply trashing the coolers, then Butcher was absolutely in the wrong.  I'm pretty sure it's a well known unwritten rule for everyone in the dugout to look the other way unless he starts throwing things onto the field or directing his frustrations towards others, which Blanton didn't appear to do either of.  Did Blanton say something to Butcher?  Maybe, but we'll never know unless they wish to discuss it to the media.  Until then, Butcher will look like he went after Blanton for smashing coolers in the dugout, and that doesn't reflect well on Scioscia.  It makes it look like he's losing control of his team.

living near kc we had a chance to go to the all star game last season.  I bought my son a trout all star jersey and he became his favorite player. we went to the Angels royals series last September. before the infamous meltdown we waited for an hour and a half for an autograph. I was hoping someone would sign but little did I know my son was sure he was getting trouts signature. he passed on bobby Wilson and I was worried he would end up empty handed. that's when mike trout made his move. just minutes before the first pitch trout comes in and pretends to ignore everyone. seconds later he reappears and signals for my son and one other kid to throw him a ball. he grabs both balls disappears and returns the balls before first pitch.  my son almost fainted. I actually was worried about him because he was gasping for air. I have heard similar stories of trout doing similar things. if he or his family reads this sight I just want to say thank you and it is great to see a star remember the kids.

I don't get it. The Cards have one of the best franchises in sports, and have shown that they can and will be successful without Pujols. Yet we have articles like this, and the butthurt Cardinal trolls coming here for no reason whatsoever. It's like an angry ex girlfriend who has to keep checking up on what her old flame is up to, and when she sees how miserable things have gotten for him and his new girlfriend, she still has to rub it in both their faces

He's no Mike Trout. If he can do this over the course of nearly a full season like Trout did last year, than I'll give him props. Until then, he's just a guy that's on a hot streak.

Albert Pujols hit 3 home runs on one October night against Texas and the rest is history. Arte was duped into believing that Albert would take this team to another level and help build a championship dynasty. That didn't work so then Josh Hamilton was Arte's next false hope to give Albert some help. Arte is a very passionate owner with good intentions but it's all blown up in his face. Pujols and Hamilton failed him and the fans.

There's been literally no change. None. From Game 1 to tonight...he looks the same. This is very concerning. It's like he goes up there and just decides he's swinging no matter what. I've never seen a player with more give up swings as Josh. We all know the swing where he just half ass flails the bat knowing he has no shot in hell at making contact at it.

I wish they would stop making him do baseball games. Its like one three hour long Clear Eyes commercial with him.

I think Hud jinxed him.   One of his keys to the game, and I am not making this up, was "toss Cobb's salad."
