Excusing drunk driving in any way shape or form is a bad move.
For a double offender, it is doubly bad.

What an incredible leader. Doesn’t he have a couple of these things already? I get that he’s 100 years old and doesn’t care anymore. But dude has plenty of money to get a driver or pay for an Uber Black or whatever. Guys an utter tool! Glad he’s no longer an Angel and I bet he’s not long for the White Sox either.

now that is a story. i think this is his 2nd dui, if memory serves. that's going to play really well in the chicago media, like piranha to dead meat.
there's an angle to this that already exists, which is that he's behind the times. dui's like this can very easily and reasonably be argued as an affirmation of that line of thinking.

I think we do, but i also dont think we can afford to lose them easily or that people would want to.
Who do you trade for that, you know Adell likely is top of that list... his value isnt super high after struggling a bit in small sample... You going to trade Ohtani?   Is Marsh going to get you that?  To get what we truly need you might be talking multiples off that list including Rengifo.
I just dont see it, it isnt that we dont have them, its that we cant really afford to lose as many of them as it might take to get the true ace, and trading for anything less makes no real sense to me.

    Exactly
See above but yeah, i agree.
I would add Stroman as i think hes a good fit, keeps the ball down etc...  After that, what we need just isnt there and will be a huge overpay in what i think is a weaker FA SP market.
We might be better of putting the money elsewhere and waiting on the next couple years SP crops which look much better.
Winning 8-7 is still winning 🙂

Man .. even the Marlins have a President of Baseball Operations position.  How is it that we are one of the only teams not to utilize the more progressive FO structure?
If we land Byrnes or LaCava, then we'll be fine, but I feel like we will ultimately end up with a lackluster hire because we are utilizing an archaic structure that is not as appealing to the best baseball minds.

So a bunch of people were charged with crimes with various outcomes.
Cohen was not charged with any crime.
But this report carefully uses the word “implicates.”  The charges against others “implicates” Cohen.  That is code talk for “let’s use words carefully to suggest he was also criminal even though he was not charged with anything.”
With zero crimes to charge him with, the SEC brought a civil suit against him claiming his association with those that committed crimes suggest he should be held partially liable for THEIR crimes.  That case was settled.
I have no idea if this guy is dirty or not.  But my point is everyone needs to read this shot carefully to separate facts from a writer’s intention conjecture.

There were both trade options. Both were speculated, but I don't think anything was concrete in either trade scenario.
If I remember correct, it was when Boston was having issues with him and wanted to dump his salary. Then they put him on waivers which no one claimed to which they ended up trading him to the Dodgers.
There are a bunch of trade rumors involving him that aren't verified on Google....some I don't even really remember talking about.

Good work. But it’s only 60 games and these awards don’t mean anything because it’s not a real season. Wait did I do that right? Haha
congrats! That’s awesome love seeing Angels players win awards!

They’ve built a team that has a ton of good young players, Jimenez, Robert, Anderson, Madrigal, Giollito, Kopesche, Cease.  They drafted a pitcher in 2020, that pitched very well in the majors this year.

I agree with this. Also, it would cost Arte more money to hire both a PBO and GM. So that's another reason as to why it's not gonna happen.

I think any talk of us getting a President of Baseball Ops is just wishful thinking.  Not only has Arte made it clear he wants to run the thing himself, but I’m pretty sure we’d have heard about it right now if we were interviewing for the position.

Unfortunately, I don't think so, and that's very frustrating.  Arte wouldn't hire a GM first and then a president after.  Unless he surprises us and names whoever he hires as President, but I think we would have heard about that intent by now.
Hard to attract the best talent when you don't really provide them with the necessary front office budget to help put them in the best position to succeed.
