Slegnaac got a reaction from Jay in What have you watched recently? (Please use the hide function for spoilers or plot lines)
The FX / Hulu version of Shogun concluded this week.
I haven't read the book. I don't remember much of the Richard Chamberlain version, which is only available on DVD currently.
This was a really good mini-series. Excellent visuals, costumes, fight scenes, story lines. Hulu also had a podcast for each episode featuring writers, directors, and cast, which helped to explain a lot of the historical context.

If Margot Robbie married Manuel Margot she'd be Margot Margot.

He was hitting well. This sucks.

Slegnaac got a reaction from Vegas Halo Fan in Perry is a very not good GM
You have some valid points. You don't need to embellish by saying that Neto and O'Hoppe's injuries were due to being "rushed". Neto decided to jump on a fence to catch a foul ball, which resulted in an awkward tumble.

and if you don't, his career will self-destruct in 5 innings pitched.

Good day Mr. Enright!
Your job, should you decide to accept it, is to convert Jose Suarez into a MLB caliber pitcher.
Should this tape be discovered, the secretary will disavow any knowledge.
Good luck, Mr. Enright!

Great find! I miss getting physical tickets. They were always a kind of built in souvenir of the game.

Found these recently.
Dave Taylor's 1,111th game.
Final score was 2 - 2
93-94 was a disappointing season, missing the playoffs after going to the Cup Finals the previous season.

Let him go be a winning pitcher somewhere else. It ain't happening here.

Slegnaac reacted to Dtwncbad in Why isn't Jo Adell getting more playing time?
You might check throughout baseball history for the, oh about one million times a player moves from one position to another.
It obviously depends on the player and the positions.
Talk about moving a catcher to short? No.
Talk about moving a SS to third? Yeah it’s happened plenty.
Talk about a CF moving to LF? Yeah, realistic.
Talk about SS going to CF? Yeah, realistic.
Talk about a 1B going to center? Probably not.
But you know where lots and lots of players move to if they change positions? 1B. 3B, 2B, C, and OF have regularly moved to 1B throughout baseball history, especially if they are less athletic than they used to be.
So if you want make fun of people suggesting maybe it’s possible for a young, highly athletic OF that is 6’3” to maybe move to 1B, be my guest, but you would be wrong.
Maybe Adell wouldn’t be able to do it. But a discussion about considering it isn’t out of bounds at all, especially when you consider much of his trouble defensively has been jumps on balls and taking bad routes.
Notice nobody has suggested they throw catchers gear on him. Yeah, changing positions can be a project but it’s not like player moving to first base is some crazy thing that never happens. Going to 1B is probably the position change that happens the most, and plenty of immobile less athletic guys have been able to do it.

They coughed up a lead, but they didn’t collapse in OT. I’m glad they got a nice road win there.

Slegnaac got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread (4/24/24 1:07pm): Orioles @ Angels: Anderson on the mound, Trout @ DH, still no Drury
Anderson didn't help his cause in issuing 4 walks in 5 innings. If Anderson keeps his pitch count down he might have at least made it through 6 innings. In which case Washington may have skipped waving the white flag.
