Well, they didn't used to. Maybe to some extent it goes in cycles and there's a lot of luck involved, or maybe they just haven't practiced in-depth scouting, beyond what you and I are capable of: "Loup and Tepera were great in 2021 - let's grab them."
Stats like ERA are even more volatile with relievers. You really have to look at peripherals and other underlying numbers.
 

One of the tiny silver linings of losing Ohtani: An open DH spot for the injury-prone players like Trout, Rendon, and Ward. Plus, they can rotate Drury, Thiass, and Schanuel, as well.
Focus on pitching and lineup depth, not an expensive DH-only.

And that’s why the only Ohtani contract that makes sense for the Halos is a 2 year deal through 2025 to allow him one year of pitching in 2025.    That’s a lot safer than signing him long term, and then possibly finding out he can’t pitch anymore after 2025.

You keep saying that and I m not sure who you are tryng to convince. He is not going to start in AAA, he has the plate discipline that is elite and I'm sure Washington will clean up any of his defensive flaws. It's as if you never saw him play last season and so willing to shuffe him off to AAA where he doesn't belong. 
The Angels need a leadoff hitter. Hell, they could use a #2 hitter that can move a runner to 2nd by a hit or walk. What they don't need is another stiff that strikes out 180 times but hits a home run once every 5 games so you can say you have a power hitter.

I'm really liking what I see and hear from Coach Wash. Can't explain why but I'm really glad he is the Angels' manager now and I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do with this team. Still feel there's a lot of potential that has yet to be tapped in this organization. I'm hopeful that Ron Washington can tap into it and we can become successful sooner than we think.

I think there will be a lot of moving pieces this off season.  I'm guessing Minasian will be making some trades to bolster the lineup and if they sign Anderson - that would be a sign to me that Drury or Rengifo (or both) are being moved.

What's the point of trolling? 
Nevin is gone, he seemingly left on good terms and I doubt anyone in MLB holds him responsible for what happened last year.   None of your bellyaching and low level trolling is going to change anything.
Instead of pretending that Nevin was this super manager that was done wrong, why not just consider that he was brought back on a year deal because the team was for sale and now that it's not they are looking longer term. If I'm someone considering hiring a manager I'd not look at his time in Anaheim as a negative.  Dude had no job certainty, was dealing with the reality the team was putting all it's eggs in a basket to try to keep a star player, and then saw it all come apart due to injuries. 
Personally I think he did his job, he filled in, didn't break anything.
