Dumb fucking post.
I am not a snow flake but personally aware of the social implications of such things. ....live on or near a reservation as a native for awhile and you will see it.

Not worried. Another Yelich type player will be available again and again and again. It is worth the wait to see how Eppler's draft picks develop. Based on his ability to find relief pitchers, he seems to know what he is doing.

Not tough at all for the people that saw Ryan pitch for the Angels.

My oh My, did you ever see Mickey Rivers run to 1st base when he first came up? you would have thought his wheels were coming off! he needs to be on that list! He brought LOTS of excitement to the club when he first came up!

eligrba reacted to tdawg87 in Poll: Will The Angels Now Retire #27 for Vlad?
Trout obviously won't give up #27 because he's a big fan of the 1927 Yankees, widely considered to be the greatest team in history. The Yankees also have not retired that number. He obviously wants to be a Yankee.
On September 11, 2001, the 2 towers fell, as well as WTC 7. In New York. Flight 93 took off from New Jersey, Trout's home state before being downed in PA. Flight 93. 9x3=27.
Wake. The. Fuck. Up.
SHEEPLE.

Yes, but after Mike Trout is done with it.

eligrba reacted to Dtwncbad in What do you want to read about in spring training?
I would like to see an emphasis on explaining individual projects.
For example, a pitcher working on a new pitch. When a guy is clearly working on his changeup and the opposing hitters know it is coming every other pitch, the stats are almost meaningless. Unless somebody is being explicit about what is happening, all the fans get is "Garcia Rocked in 2 Inning Stint."
I would like to see POSITIVE stories about what some of these players are doing off the field. Like a backstory on a player that explains the context for their commitment to helping kids with mastering math, or volunteering at senior centers, whatever.
But strictly exclude political stuff. The NFL and NBA have suffered from allowing politics into the center of the discussion, and that is a big mistake.
Most fans like sports to be sports, not ANOTHER channel to get blasted with frictional politics.

eligrba reacted to Blarg in The Yelich Haul
The distance between Calhoun in right field and Yelich is not four top prospects from the Angels. That is primarily why this deal was never going to happen. The incremental change from what we have to what we would get was not worth the expense.

I feel like this is a trick question.

eligrba got a reaction from VariousCrap in What's your max extension for Trout (if you're Eppler)?
At this point in Trout's contract, the Angels aren't just paying for a player but also for a marketing opportunity that will last well beyond his career.

eligrba reacted to Second Base in Mariners check in as Baseball America’s worst farm system
It's funny, a normal person would see the mistakes they made the first time (aging roster, bloated payroll, emptied farm system...) and fix it.
But someone who legitimately believes they are right and you are wrong will not change.
Jerry Dipoto is a selfish, delusional, arrogant dick. That's why he sucks at his job.
Being media friendly and acting like this is a fantasy baseball roster neither makes him smart or good at this.
The only thing he is smart enough to do is convince others he's right. They don't find out the truth until too late.
