I know it’s not really a big deal.  But that one bothers me because its “evolution” (I would argue this is an example of some language devolving, no evolving) came from people just misunderstanding what they are hearing.  And “end quote” is so obviously denotatively correct.
Like “dugout” came from the area being dug out (a couple of steps below playing field).
If people started calling it the “duckout” to me that would be particularly annoying because you just gave up the literal meaning in favor of repeating what you thought you were hearing.
But I get it I am weird in this stuff.

I’m probably at the crisis portion of it, when I keep telling myself I’m in the acceptance phase. Oh well. 

It's hard but we've had lots of practice.
So I approach each season as if it will be "interesting."

This sounds like the Angels 2002 - 2009. Those early Scioscia teams were great fun to watch.

I could make a silly argument that Babe Ruth in 1922 caused the Yankees to be swept by the New York Giants in the World Series by hitting .118 and that detracted from his all-time greatness. 
But I won't.

I always think of this board as a family.  Chuck is the dad, the Mods are like the big brothers, the long term posters are the close 1st cousins (god bless you Lou and Brandon) and the trolls are like 3rd removed cousins from different mothers who pop in and try and tell the brothers and dad how to run the family.

I had a similarly fantastic half hour at a similar age when flying one of these. The noise and general shaking and rattling was something else. Great fun once you get over the sense you're flying in something made in your uncle's shed from old washing machines and lawn mowers. I didn't get to land it though.
