The Angels, as professionals, have plenty to play for. The fact that the Rangers have a wc to play for is merely a long line in the litany of excuses that seek to absolve the players, their coaches, manager, and GM of any culpability in this yet another failure of a season. Another high priced one. Sorry, but a team with pride would have thought that at least they could pull out a .500 or a winning season. They wilt at the finish, and that has become the clarion cry of this team in recent years - along with the stumbling out of the gate while being improperly prepared for the season. Absolutely Mike Scoiscia should not be back again, along with his coaching staff. They should be searching for another job.

Had to check to see if this post was from 2010, 2011, 2012 or 2013.

Trout would be stupid to wait until free agency. He would be pretty smart to actually sign a monster contract now, while also giving himself the chance to sign a second monster contract while he's still in his prime. Sign a big 7-8 year deal now, then a huge 10-year one afterwards.

Besides that, signing a contract now also guarantees him big, big money. A lot can happen in 4 years. Players can get injured (ask Grady Sizemore). Smart move for him would be to sign now.

If the Angels don't lock him up now or within a year, they're a bunch of idiots.

I guess the Rays have made some terrible business moves by locking up players like Longoria and Moore extremely early in their career. You must be pretty glad we don't operate like that franchise, huh

What is with the Douchebacks organization getting so butt hurt about opposing teams and their fans. This is same organization that forced Dodgers fans, that spent huge money for dugout seating behind home plate, to wear Douchebacks gear or get ousted from the stadium.
Now they go all out Kinsler and tell them to get off their field after winning their first division in years. Followed by the Senior Senile Senator from Arizona acting like life guard and blowing the whistle on pool frolicking. What next McCain, bombing Chavez Ravine to teach them a lesson?
I hope Puig pissed in the pool staining it so badly they have no choice but to drain it and have it acid washed.

    stupid article.

Big difference between retiring and a milestone.  And I still don't agree with the Angels honoring Rivera.  Those players never played for the Angels, and it's not the same as a Rivalry.

Hell, I bet Dwyre would like the Angels to honor the Dodgers if they ever win the World Series.  Because that would be the classy thing to do.

Yeah... It's a random hot streak that will be followed by losing 7 out of 10.
If they wanted to fight for his job they should have started in April.

Class. While I am disappointed by what has transpired on the diamond, this is a group of people with a lot of character and compassion. The organization deserves props for that.

LOL  Overworked? Perhapas if they pitched better and learned to put hitters away that wouldn't be the case. Overworked? Give me a break! Sosh with the excuse machine in high gear again. They suck ass, that is what the problem is.

Amen to that my friend! The way that they have treated one of our homegrown, and truly once in a generation type of young player is nothing short of dispicable as far as I am concerned. If Sosh had had his way, Abreu would still be here, starting in the outfield, and Trout would have spent last year in AAA.

I don't ever recall saying he is the left handed Trout. To me he is the left handed Calhoun. The pitching has adjusted, but I think this kid will adjust as well. 58 major league at bats is too early to come to a judgement. He has raked at every level so far, it is my opinion that he has what it takes to succeed at this level and be a good player.

He should have been here long ago, but Sosh wants some time to feel some things out. Hence:

"The kid's gonna be good, he's got some rough edges that need some refinin' and needs more seasoning. We liked some of what he has been showin' down on the farm. He'll get his feet on the ground and he'll get to where he needs to be. Still has to pay his dues, but early in a guy's career he's gonna be gettin' on and off that  treadmill. There are just guys up here now doin' some things for us, so we want Hounsie to get his feet wet and play everyday."

Especially since Ianetta is basically the second coming of Johnny Bench behind and at the plate. I wonder why he, and so many like myself, are all for the dumping of Pudge Ianetta.
