Hitting in the clutch is Halo's downfall all season

You all realize that the Angels are hitting .264 with RISP, that's 9th out of the 30 teams in MLB, and .002 percentage points behind the Oakland Athletics (and .010 ahead of the Dodgers), correct?  I'm not saying that's terrific, but it's not as dire as you are making it sound.

Why are you destroying Scioscia's narrative with your facts?

last night is a perfect example.  in one inning they had 3 hits and a walk and failed to score.  Later in the game it was tied in the 9th and they had a runner at 3rd with 1 out and failed to get him in.  Sure enough they lost the game in the bottom half of the inning.

is 5 runs enough to win a lot of games? Sure.  Does Michael Kohn absolutely suck and deserve a ton of the blame? Sure.  But think how much the complexion of that game might have changed if the Angels had been able to execute pretty basic situational hitting and push another run or two across.

What I'm saying is, yes, if you had to boil it down to the team's single biggest problem, it would be pitching.  But their awful situational hitting should not be ignored and is absolutely a contributing factor to their suckiness this year (and years past).

Hitting or pitching - it doesn't matter. Good pitching is allowing fewer runs than your opponent did and good hitting is scoring more than your opponent did. The Angels could improve in all facets of the game.

That being said... it has been pointed out that the Angels were slightly above average hitting w/RISP. You can take last night's game as an example but there are plenty of other games where the Angels hit well w/RISP. And there are plenty of examples where the Angels have stranded other team's runners on 3rd with less than one out (well maybe not, the pitching was terrible).
