KDWells got a reaction from jordan in The Official 2018 Amateur Draft Thread
He's a first round talent, teams were just scared off as he will be starting QB at Oklahoma this year. Seems the A's and Murray have an agreement to let him play college football this fall and join the A's afterwards.

KDWells got a reaction from Billy_Ball in Luke Bard DFA'd
Paredes has been called up to take Bard's spot already.

KDWells got a reaction from ettin in Props to former AngelsWin.com writer Brent Maguire
I subscribed a few weeks back and have been very happy with it so far, the site and mobile app are very clean looking and the writing is top notch. Ken Rosenthal had a great Ohtani piece a couple of days ago and included some quotes from Nagy, Hinske, and others which I hadn't seen before. Definitely well worth the $39 smackers for the year I laid down for it.

KDWells reacted to Mark68 in Dodgers Nation...
It’s funny that the fans of a team that hasn’t won a World Series in 30 years believe they can talk smack about any other team...

This kid is unreal.

May this be a blessed and prosperous #ShoheiDay for us all.

KDWells reacted to southpaw in Gameday Thread: Angels vs. A's (4/7/2018)
I hate to say this but I think he is injured. No bite on offspeed pitches. No velocity. Hope I'm wrong.

KDWells reacted to tdawg87 in OC Register: Mike Trout on a mission to improve his defense, and maybe win a Gold Glove
Definitely should have won his rookie year.

KDWells reacted to GrittyVeterans in I know its early, but...feeling very optimistic about this team
At the end of April First, the record is 3-1

KDWells got a reaction from ThomasSutpen in OC Register: Angels move prospect Taylor Ward from catcher to third base
This is disastrous for his potential to make any kind of substanital impact as a big leaguer in Ward's career. I see nothing in his offensive profile or approach that suggests his bat will be anywhere near good enough to justify playing him at a corner infield spot.

KDWells reacted to NorCal Halo in Badly want new uniform color scheme...
By far the small a is my favorite as is blue cap with red bill. Of course, anything Trout wears looks first class!

KDWells got a reaction from NorCal Halo in Badly want new uniform color scheme...
I have always had an affection for this navy/red colorway combined with the lowercase script. I think it's a really unique look and I wish the Angels would incorporate into their uniform sets more often.

All that being said...I'm not convinced this is a bad thing. Just a different thing. Bad handling by MLB though.

KDWells got a reaction from Chuck in Gameday: 2/26 Angels @ Padres - Ohtani makes hitting debut
Cowart just has a built-in natural gift for being a superb defender. If he could hit a lick in the majors he would be considered one of the premier defenders in the league. I still think the Angels should just have him spend an off-season getting reps at both outfield corners and every spot in the infield. He is athletically gifted enough to do it and it allows him to provide tremendous value with his versatility even if the bat never comes along which is how it's looking at this moment.

KDWells got a reaction from Angel Oracle in The Official Los Angeles Angels 2017 Minor League Statlines & Prospects thread
Having a second baseman who moonlights as your solid defensively at all three spots fourth outfielder seems to fit the versatile defensive agenda the Angels have been pushing this offseason!
-
KDWells got a reaction from AngelsLakersFan in Angels Sign 1B Chris Carter to a minor league deal
Cozart has not played in over 122 games since 2014. Switching over to a less physically demanding position at third may help his durability some but his track record of health is not exactly a secret. The likelihood of Valbuena being needed to play fifty or so games at third base is a very real possibility so I am not so sure why everyone is so eager to try and send him packing.

KDWells reacted to jordan in Angels Sign 1B Chris Carter to a minor league deal
Valbuena isn’t going anywhere. Valbuena fits the Angels needs much more than Carter, or Cron would have. Not sure why people want LV gone so quickly. He can play the corners, hits left handed, and gets timely hits.
-
KDWells reacted to jordan in Angels Sign 1B Chris Carter to a minor league deal
With Cron out of options, basically we’re getting a Cron in the minors for depth.
-
KDWells got a reaction from totdprods in Angels Sign 1B Chris Carter to a minor league deal
Break in case of emergency option for some 1B at-bats. I've always been fond of Carter's ridiculously all or nothing approach from a surface level viewing intermittently over the years.

KDWells reacted to totdprods in 3 man bench
I still want to see Cowart go down to SLC and start the transformation into an Andrew Romine Swiss Army knife type player. Rotate him around the OF and IF, and even have him get some off-field practice in the bullpen and behind the plate to serve as emergency options there as well.
And I still think replacing Cron with a 1B who can also cover LF/RF makes sense, with Upton being an emergency CF. Call up Herm or EYJr or Liriano for a few games if you're able to plan ahead for a Trout day off.
Michael Saunders was once an Eppler target. He's still available and can cover all three OF spots and I could see him being capable of handling 1B. Angels had interest in Chris Young - also has plenty of experience across the OF, but none professionally at 1B. Seems like he could probably get some reps there though if needed.

KDWells got a reaction from Angel Oracle in AngelsWin.com Today: AngelsWin Top 30 Prospects: #3 OF Jahmai Jones
Agree with you on every part of this. This coupled with when Trout was bumped over to left field by Bourjos a few years back he seemed frustrated and his offense didn't fully take off until he was playing in center full time, it just makes sense to leave Trout there for the next ten years. He will probably only be a good defender for six of those but you cross that bridge if you are lucky enough to come to it.
