Maybe I'm the only person that thinks Joe Maddon having a burner account is hilarious and awesome.

ScruffytheJanitor got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Exploring Contract Swaps for Loup and Tepera
This is what I am thinking -- relievers are weird. Loup could give up 24 homers in 24 outings and be cut.... or he could finish 5th in Cy Young voting. Both him and Tepera have enough talent that you might as well just see if they rebound. I think the key to building a good bullpen is to have a TON of options -- no sense in just trading some just to trade them.

No. The one upside of a potential transition offseason is that we won't spend our usual 150m+ on a free agent hitter that gets constantly injured and massively underperforms

Between Walsh and Rendon at 1st and 3rd, the team cant run out a roster that expects them to play most days. Of course all off season we'll hear about getting that big bat back, and Walsh being healthy again as the reason the team didn't need to sign someone, which will obviously sink the 2023 team by mid season. Of course then we'll hear all about how unlucky the team is.

Is the “speculation” that is being referenced from the same reporter who said Anaheim “isn’t really even a city”

Guys, I have a set list of questions I'm asking the Trash Pandas this weekend in round two of a sweep of interviews for the website, what would your specific questions be for the likes of O'Hoppe, Bachman, Silseth, Paris, Jackson, Bush and Sum Yum Gui that I may be missing here?

Did you or anyone else on here watch the game?  I'm curious how he looked tonight.  I see that he gave up a bunch of hits again, but didn't walk anyone, so that's baby steps at least!

I'm not as optimistic about Walsh recovering - but if we can get 2021 Walsh back, that'd help quite a bit.  But If we think this is his ceiling, we need a plan "b" here
We're short an outfielder, to be sure - Nimmo or Benintendi would fit nicely - mostly, need to find guys who don't make so many outs - like you said about Ward, we need guys with solid OBP skills to surround Trout, Ohtani, and (knock wood), Rendon.
I'd hoped that by next year, we'd have a really solid and exciting OF of Marsh, Adell and Trout ...

I still think Ward is capable of hitting something like .280/.850 with a 140 wRC+. He was just too good for a long enough period of time for it to be a total fluke.

If the Angels had a bunch of Soto's on their bench this season they're probably competing for a playoff spot right now. Guys that can play some defense, steal a base, get on base and have a little pop in their bat.

This reminded me of last season when Maddon kept turning to Cishek with runners on base despite him being terrible at stranding runners for the majority of the season. I think he turned it around a bit towards the end of the year when we were out of it but it cost us several games.

Soccer style kicker graduated from Collier High June 1976, Stetson University honors graduate class of 1980, holds 2 NCAA Division One records, one for most points in a season, one for distance, former nickname "The Mule," the first and only pro-athlete ever to come out of Collier County and one hell of a model American.

ScruffytheJanitor reacted to AngelsFaninGA in OC Register: Will Angels’ David Fletcher return to form now that he’s healthy?
Sadly, I'd still take his approach over the "productive out" approach that much of our offense has adopted, aka blankly staring at pitches down the middle (even with two strikes)

It's cool the Angels have a very underrated system, but I think an honest evaluator with no bias or narrative could justify O'Hoppe, Neto, Bachman, Bush, and Quero as top 100 prospects.
Now obviously that won't happen, but I think a sincere evaluation should probably have O'Hoppe, Bush and Quero in the top 100 with Bachman and Neto in the fringe 100-120 range due to a lack of innings.
And when you combine those guys with others that won't be on any top prospect lists but will still be solid major leaguers like Silseth, Erla and DiChiara, I think the system is in fine condition. It's not the strongest, but there's some solid major league talent and it's in AA and higher.
Throw in the recent graduations of Marsh, Adell, Detmers, and the post hype breakout of Rengifo and Sandoval and it paints a decent picture of Minasian.

I have almost no confidence that he will ever be this productive consistently, but if Fletcher and Rengifo can be productive it will make this offseason much easier. There are more outfield options for us to pursue, and it would allow us to really focus in at 1B (unless we move Rendon there).

However, since we are the Angels, I assume Fletcher will be a baseball god for the next six weeks and will then turn into Jack Mayfield Jr.  next season.
