I just noticed that although the package clearly says turkey testicles, the ingredients list says chicken testicles. What a ripoff.

I’ll be honest.  After the game on Saturday, I was pretty stoked about how the Angels fought back against the Asstros.  Then Sunday happened, and I still, mentally, can’t get over how shitty that game was.
Now we’ve won 2 straight against the hated Yankees, and I can’t stop going back to Sunday’s game, thinking…..fuck.  Had we been able to win that game, we’d be riding a 4 game win streak and morale would probably be even higher than it is right now.
I’m glad the players are, hopefully, in a better place mentally.  But damn…I wish we won that game on Sunday though.

I didn't participate in the poll because I'm not a big "what if" guy.
I will say this - Scioscia and Bill Stoneman's biggest impact was in the way they changed the culture of the Angels as an organization. Together they instilled a certain way of playing the game, set expectations, etc. and they did that together.  They were on the same page.  It was a great partnership.  The Angels success can be directly tied to that partnership.
The organization has changed.  The culture is different.  Baseball has changed.
That being said, I have no doubt Mike Scioscia could be successful anywhere, but he would still need a partner on the GM side.  He can't do both.  That's not to say he should have a certain level of autonomy.  I just think the days of a manager setting the tone for an organization may have passed.  Maybe not.  I don't know for sure.
I miss Scioscia.  I miss his leadership.  He never made it about himself.  Never.  He never wanted to be the focal point. He always gave credit and never took it.
I especially admired the way he navigated the team through the death of Nick Adenhart.
I just admire Mike Scioscia, the man and I hope he's happy with whatever he's doing now.  He gave me a lot of good memories and I will always be grateful for that.

Let’s be real; they are 2 games under .500 with bad starting pitching, an atrocious bullpen where no lead is safe, and the position players are mostly hurt or ineffective. With 60 or so games left.
If they were going to make a run it would have had to of started already, like what Philly has been doing.
    it’s a wrap for 2023.

the first half of this post and the highlighted part are more fiction than fact. rendon had played seven seasons in mlb when he signed with the angels. 2 of those seasons, his first and third, were abbreviated and he put up nearly identical numbers as he has put up in his injury marred seasons with the angels this year and the last two. in his healthy years he was putting up big numbers with ops+ of 126. 108. 139, and 157. finishing 5th, 6th, 11th, and 3rd for the mvp in those seasons. his first and only healthy year with the angels? 150 ops+ and he finished 10th in mvp.
there was no recency bias. there was no illusions of any kind. rendon is a really good player. the problem is he's been injured 3 straight friggen years because apparently the angels can't have anything nice.

About contending in the second half?
Hard to do that when you can’t execute.
What was that John McKay said about the Bucs’ execution?   In favor of it?

And that would be a very unfair assessment.  Arte has owned the team for 20 years, and he had some success early in terms of team performance.  Yes things haven't always gone well, but his intentions were good, he's done a lot to try to develop and support the various teams he has had here, support the community, and the fans.  In many ways, Autry also made plenty of mistakes as well along with the good.  So many things have to go exactly right to push an organization to the top and keep it there.  Spending gobs of money, and not interfering with operations doesn't always do it either.  If it did, ownership would be an easier job, basically just get as wealthy as you can and spend it all on your team.  Right now the disappointment of the current season and situation with Ohtani hurts.  But I often think that's the most pessimistic way to look at it, kind of buried in all of that is the good things that have happened and are happening as well.  It's easy to dwell on the bad stuff, harder to cherish the good things that have happened, or are occurring now.  So anyway, I think it's kind of silly to torch Arte for all the bad, and none of the good.  In the weekly podcast Victor Rojas touched on the this subject near the end, and I thought what he had to say was on point about Arte.

I do think what I like about the Syndergaard / Moniak trade is that I think Minasian has a fairly good eye in terms of finding value.  Moniak will not be a star, but I do think he has improved in the time he's been with our organization and has become a rather useful role player.  A strong side platoon guy is a useful piece.  His BABIP suggests that what we have seen is unsustainable (as well as the poor BB/K ratio that you have referenced), but I do think Minasian has done a good job of finding useful complementary players to help "raise the floor" for our team, so to speak.

I'm not sure why you bring up Marsh, Moniak was traded for Syndergaard. Marsh was traded for O'Hoppe.

Would you believe the traded were linked if the players had come from different teams?
When push comes to shove, all he said was that Marsh was moved in a different deal -- that reality IS pretty black and white.  Any connections people may be making between the two deals is purely speculative.  Someone could just as easily argue they took on Moniak just to avoid looking like it was a purely cash driven move -- considering the owner was thinking about bolting, I'm sure you'd find people who would believe there was some truth to that too.
Personally, I'm just happy Moniak is completely outperforming his minor league career and MLEs.

Great another one of your made up "facts". The articles are all wrong and you are right? Now that is laughable, see at this time the Yankees hold the head to head tiebreaker, so they would be second and the Angels first.
