i think the angel fans on this board are probably going to be disappointed by the extent of the offseason overall. i don't think the angels are going to go as deep into FA as many think or wish, including myself.
if the angels sign cole, then i think they are out on the other top 4 FA pitchers. i think they also sign maldonado and either tehren, miley or roark. i believe that would be the extent of the "major" acquisitions, and i'm sure other than cole that would leave many here with a sunken chest.
if they don't sign cole, then i don't think they necessarily spend the same money, but i think that's a little more fluid and potentially more interesting if they do.
i read fletcher's post and i think i was picking up what he was putting down. perhaps not.

My opinion is this isn’t the season to tinker with that.  Let him prove he is healthy before you change his routine especially coming back from TJ surgery.

wade miley was excellent for the brewers in the regular season during the stretch run and the playoffs in 2018. i picked up an interesting piece of information on the fangraphs link, this year on august 10th he had an era of 2.99 before not posting another quality start. i think he may be undervalued.

i'm just going to keep saying it, if the angels trade adell or marsh, then they're Facking up. these are the two guys who project to have a legit shot as above avg. major league outfielders offensively and defensively. the angels need their 5 years of cost control in order to afford these other pitchers that we are supposedly buying this offseason. their outfield budget looks pretty productive and reasonable when you think adell/trout/walsh at 38 million per year.

When the experience of taking a family to a game costs as much as it does, when the team doesnt make the effort, why should the fans.
An occasional rebuild is a normal part of sports in some franchises, im not knocking those who are legitimately doing what they need to do within that process, but way too many teams seem to extend that process longer than needs be, or make no effort whatsoever to even try to be competitive.
My feelings about what the As have done to the game are well known, but at least they generally field good teams.  some others are just in money saving mode, IR Revenue sharing collection mode, and that more than anything is going to be what undoes the game

Wait what if it is backloaded?  Would you kill yourself at a later date or ?

why go after a defensively challenged OFer who is effectively a DH at this point and then make a trade when you could just spend that money on a pitcher.  
this is a hard pass for me.  Just doesn't make a lot of sense.  

I get that it was the best teams in baseball in the postseason but it was so much more entertaining watch teams working to score runs and the sort than watching a human popcorn machine of home runs....    I can't imagine they think station to station ball is more exciting for fans than the alternatives -- I'm hoping they go back to the less lively ball.

Bonds definitely doesn’t count. He’s in his own category. 
 
Unpopular opinion but Trout isn’t even close to as good of a player as Bonds was. Even before the roids.

I wouldn’t. We couldn’t afford Cole or any other good pitcher if we did that. We need Adell, even though he almost certainly won’t be as good as Betts, because he’s cheap. Unless Arte commits to a massive payroll raise, the money just doesn’t work. Throwing in two more pitchers makes it worse. 
In a different roster position, yeah, I’d probably do that deal if we could re-sign him. As the team and payroll are currently situated? I don’t even think twice about passing on that.
