  1. I'd bet money that was how AP was reprimanded when he was a kid. When I first read what he supposedly did I just remembered the community episode where Troy brings his grandmother who makes Britta go get her a switch so she can hit her with it.
  2. Thoughts on Brady this year? I don't expect week 1 to be the norm but the NE O-line looked bad, he's another year older and if Gronk goes down again so does his value.
  3. The question of who to drop depends on your entire roster and the league set up as far as starting positions go. If you have 2 receivers that you didn't list and can only start 2 that means the 5 listed are all on the bench and you don't need that many. As far as the RB's I'd add Bradshaw, Tate, Hyde, Woodhead and Ridley in that order. Bradshaw and Tate are injury concerns but when they're healthy enough to play they should get the most touches on their team. Tate's the riskier of the two because if West or Crowell step up while he's out he will lose touches when he comes back but they didn't sign him this offseason to give him 10 touches a game.
  4. I noticed this a while ago. Chuck told us if anyone wanted it to PM him, I saved the message he sent and eventually the password no longer worked.
  5. As far as the justice system is concerned assault is assault until a certain level of aggravation is reached. A slap on the ass or a punch to the face are both considered assault despite how most everyone here would say one is worse than the other. The fact that he knocked her out as far as the justice system is concerned is a moot point. Again, the court of public opinion shouldn't be driving the leagues decision unless they're going to change their entire policy.
  6. I don't see anything Brandon said that implies he thinks domestic violence is okay. The league hardly doing anything about it over the years is on them and they now have a policy in place that says 6 games yet they're trying to make an example out of Rice because of public backlash to the video. I don't defend anything Rice did but if you're going to say you have a policy then you should enforce it across the board. From a legal standpoint Rice took a plea deal which is quite common in the case of a first offense domestic abuse charge. Whether the NFL saw the video or not what the **** did the general public think went down in the elevator? Everyone and their mother saw the first video of her unconscious. Domestic abuse is a problem but the court of public opinion in today's over saturated technology filled world shouldn't result in a sentence stiffer than what the policy states.

  8. That still makes no sense as to why he's suspended indefinitely if the league policy says 6 games. Do people assume these domestic abuse charges involve pillow fights?
  9. I voted for him in 2008 because he was charismatic and I thought maybe he would be a much needed breath of fresh air...basically I bought into the hype. Didn't make that mistake in 2012 and I think he's been a horrible president and has done the impossible which is a crappier job than his predecessor.
  10. Sportsline was saying it was tear earlier and now every outlet is saying it's a sprain and he may not miss too much time.
  11. Supposedly Bulaga tore his MCL. If Seattle stays healthy and plays the rest of the season anything close to what they did last night they have a great chance to repeat.
  12. I believe the team knew about it shortly after he failed the test and there was a hearing or appeal on August 21st. Regardless I don't think the team would have done anything differently in the draft or off season based on Welker's suspension.
  13. Seattle is manhandling GB. I really need to stop picking against Seattle in the pick 'em contest as I did it too much last year as well.
  14. They showed a statistic that since 1990 when the playoff format went to 6 teams in each conference that teams who start the season 0-1 make the playoffs 24% of the time. I think regardless of who loses tonight both of these teams have a great shot at making the playoffs assuming no major injuries but it's a huge game especially in regards to home field in the playoffs. Definitely glad football is back and can't wait to be out on Sunday watching multiple games at the same time.
  15. I never saw or remember her in her heyday and quite honestly found her annoying but that seemed to be her schtick. I don't mean that to sound disrespectful as more power to her for doing what she did. She had 81 good years while her mind was all there which is something most of us would love to be able to say when our time is up. RIP.
  16. This was something Chase enacted earlier this year to combat money laundering and partly because of the amount of scrutiny they were under from regulators regarding Madoff.

  18. Less skeptical of a government that continues to take away civil liberties? I've got nothing to hide but I'm not going to vote for anything that gives our already overreaching government more power.
  19. I want to go all out one year and dress up like that for Halloween.
  20. Kingpin Groundhog Day Scrooged Glad to see someone else mentioned Kingpin because I know it's not one of his biggest or more well known roles but he kills it as Big Ern. I think he has other roles that are better and have more to them but the Big Ern character is one of my favorite characters in any movie.
  21. Buehrle has been pretty bad in July and August and has looked like he's had a case of dead arm.
  22. I don't understand why someone would lie to the extent that they make up a fake story (getting family to back it up) saying they did something heroic. Especially when word is he may have been involved in a crime because you bring extra attention to the situation and then look like an even bigger piece of shit. Should have just gone with 'screwed up my ankle playing basketball' defense if he was going to lie.
  23. Insurance and also a possible dual TE system like they ran with Gronk and Hernandez when Gronk is healthy. I think it's got to be insurance as much as anything though as Gronk suffered a back injury in college that affected his draft status and he's had forearm, hip, knee and back injuries in the NFL. He's coming back from a major knee injury and that along with back issues are major concerns for any player particularly one who's had problems staying on the field.
  24. I gotta hand it to the Patriots FO as they move aging players before they decline too much. Wright could be a steal for NE and Mankins helps address a huge need in Tampa.
