  1. You realize that federal money helps to fund that state economy right? Farmers and businesses get subsidies which spur the economy, the state gets money to make improvements to roads/infrastructure and so on. You're not at a loss you just have no idea what you're talking about just like the pie chart. No one said Wisconsin's economy wasn't good the state just happens to benefit by getting far more than they paid to the feds in 2013. Meanwhile CA got $0.68 for every $1 they sent the feds in 2013. F'in liberals, can't live with 'em and can't live without their money either.
  2. Like the pie charts about water usage you don't understand how federal taxation and spending work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_taxation_and_spending_by_state In 2013 the feds collected 46.4B from Wisconsin while paying out 83B to the state. For every $1 Wisconsin citizens and businesses paid the federal government in 2013 the state got back $1.79. In other words that low unemployment and strong economy were largely funded by federal tax dollars from other states.
  3. Using that same logic states that don't pull their own weight should do with less money from the feds. If that were the case Wisconsin would be in a world of shit since they take more from the feds than they pay in. Quite a few of those pesky liberal states like CA, NY, etc. are footing the bill for for those states that aren't pulling their weight. You keep your water and we'll use some of that money to buy it from other states or build desalination plants.
  4. I don't see what you f*cking everyone else has to do with over watering your lawn but do your thing.
  5. Same owner but the Brookhurst one is Thai Food by Sushi on Fire or something to that effect if you look at the full name. Sushi on Fire is good but it's pricey and when the HB one is crowded you can't hold a conversation with anyone at your table because it's so loud due to the high ceilings. Big mama aka the owner/person who runs the restaurant walks around giving out free sake all the time at the HB one which is always nice. Some of their special rolls though are ~$15 each so between two people you can rack up a $90-100 bill easily with some special roles and a few drinks. Edit - Ra is exactly a yelp place. They go for more of the hipster or posh LA place ambiance with overpriced sushi. If your in downtown HB you're better off going to Sushi on Fire on main street vs. RA on PCH as the sushi and prices are better at sushi on fire.
  6. Ra is overpriced and there are far better local places near where I'm at. The only one I know near Irvine/Newport is Kitayama and they apparently close at 2 to get ready for dinner. One of our favorite places to go to which is reasonably priced and has really good sushi is Full Moon: http://fullmoonsushi.jimdo.com/location/ They do not close down to get ready for dinner. I've never been to the Tustin location but it might not be too far from where you are and there's also the Costa Mesa one off Harbor (405N exit Harbor heading South) which again depending where you are may or may not be too far.
  7. Ever since Nate moved he's acted like he's been out of state for decades while ripping on CA. Pay no attention to him as he comes off like a butthurt high school chick who didn't get asked to the big dance.
  8. Saying San Fran is shitty is akin to saying Chicago is looking damn good as both are exaggerations.

  10. I know a guy who works for a company that has a bid to create or rather modify the plant in HB on PCH into a desalination plant. Naturally the opponents of it are environmentalists and those who make money under the current set up. It's been talked about for years and it would be nice if it finally happened.
  11. No way would I drop any of those guys but I guess it depends on league size and set up. I'm in 2 leagues (14, 10 team) and none of those guys or anyone close to them is available on the waiver wire. Bye weeks impact everyone and if it came down to it I'd chalk week 4 up as a loss and play a man short. This week projected points are down quite a bit in one of my leagues due to the teams on byes and a lot of rosters are impacted.
  12. He retired in 2004. Not gonna lie I tried looking it up and there was an article in 2009 saying Sehorn was the last white CB in the NFL at that point.
  13. I'd add Jared Allen (DE), Justin Smith (has played DE and DT) and Eric Weddle (FS) (8th year).
  14. In the last 5 years in MLB in SoCal we've had the Stow beating, a guy punched at an Angels game resulting in a fall then suffering a head injury that resulted in death and 2 guys shot in the parking lot after an Angels game by an off duty cop. Every time I go to any sporting event there's drunk assholes and avoiding them 99.9% of the time is as easy as not engaging them and not getting drunk. I believe a lot of stadiums have cracked down on tailgating for a lot of the major sports because surprise surprise, getting drunk for hours before the game even begins usually leads to problems. For the record I pretty much avoid going to sporting events because it's cheaper to watch from home, the view is better and I can avoid the idiots. I like going to a few Angel games a year but other than that I'd rather watch on TV. Philly fans are notorious for being douches ever since they pelted Santa with snowballs so I'm not really surprised by anything that comes out of Philly. I went to the Raider/Bronco games 2 years in a row in Oakland maybe 10/11 years ago and quite frankly I kept my mouth shut and didn't wear any Bronco gear because it wasn't worth the trouble. I watched two guys in Bronco jerseys walking by the line to get in get yelled at, have things thrown at them, spit at by a few people and the list goes on. Mob mentality is a bad thing and when there's booze involved it's even worse.
  15. As a Bronco fan I hated seeing Woodhead because while he looks small he runs tough and he's versatile. Hope he makes a full recovery.
  16. You would think at a point on that drive Denver would adjust and not give Wilson so much space. At least it was an entertaining game. Props to Seattle.
  17. Congrats Peyton on shitting the bed against Seattle when the game was in reach. Now they fall apart after giving up a first down run and get a stupid penalty. I guess I should be glad that they didn't get blown out like in the Super Bowl.
  18. Could be a muscle pull or strain in his back. No that's not me being an internet doctor it's me having pulled a muscle in my back and experiencing something similar - discomfort when you move, pain towards the end of a deep breath and you can feel the pain and discomfort through your chest and armpit. Regardless here's to a speedy recovery for Josh.

  20. That was one of those calls where whatever it was ruled on the field was what it would stand as when challenged because there wasn't enough evidence to overturn it one way or the other. Given how close it was on the slow motion replay I can't fault the refs too much.
  21. is this one of those shows you watch when you're 40+, you have kids and you've basically given up on having any kind of life you really enjoy?
  22. Denver's defense couldn't get off the field the second half while KC had the ball 70% of the time. Between fatigue and bad penalties they're lucky to be 2-0. Only 2 games in but so far NO and GB are unimpressive meanwhile San Fran is down by 8 with 2 minutes left in a game they dominated early.
  23. To be honest the last person we hired for a position I supervise sent an email like the one wopphil provided and that was perfect. If they liked you that's more than enough and if they didn't feel like you were the right candidate nothing you say is likely to change their minds. Good luck.
  24. Green was outplayed big time by Gates in terms of snaps and productions week 1. The fact that Cameron is even available is surprising so grab him before some else does.
