its a damn shame he doesn't qualify for ROTY

last night for example, i wasnt to heartbroken over the loss.
if there was a game we were to lose, it was that one, and im fine with it

we have a large number of games against the Ms left... and if we blow them out of the water the pressure will come off the As, something i dont want to see happen
 
i want this WC thing to go down to the wire and im frankly still unsure which of the 2 id rather play... frankly i think id rather see the Royals oust both, but i digress.
 
bottom line, we arent going to win them all, the pen was due for a bad night...   stuff happens i guess.

personally i still think the As were the luckiest team in baseball for over 2 years.
every move worked, every platoon produced, every call up produced.. in fact is most of these cases they over produced or exceeded expectations.
has any other team ever had a run like that?

What all this tells me is that as has always been the case, the stats are valuable, and are embedded in the game forever at this point, but the game is still played on the field.

History doesn't agree.  Either way the point is qualifications for one office, versus another.  Palin was not running for Pres, something many of you seem to forget.
 
I wouldn't necessarily oppose Hillary as a VP candidate as was the case with Palin, but for Pres, she is woefully under prepared. 
 

Running a campaign is not the same as doing the job.. no way, no how.  Nor is sleeping with the man who does.
 
Yes, she was Sec State, but her performance on that job is highly open to debate as to whether it was good or bad, aside from holding the position its easy to debate that as a positive or negative.
You can see these as qualifications if you like, but the reality is that shes getting the nod for no reason beyond her gender and visibility.
This has beenthe Dem roadmap for almost a decade now.. why do you think she bowed out?  backroom promised being kept.. they kept her relevant for exactly this reason, when what they should be doing is looking for a better woman to run.
She will likely get the nod, and she will win regardless as noone will vote Rep and rightfully so really... but that doesn't make her a good candidate, the right candidate, or anything other than political capital.

wihout NY., Boc, or Det in the post, i suspect ESPN will go 100% NFL instead of the 95% they already are.. the rest will ne NBA pre-season

When the trade was made you guys all told me how they would perhaps even be better with the platoon...
 
I get they didnt give up much but what did they gain?  Who do they bench, what do they do with Jaso when hes ready...   Are they trying to set a record for platooning at every position on the field ?

All these deals have bit them in the butt.. they lost thier offense, and the pitchers have been beaten by the teams they were supposed to beat.  Right now they are demoralized, i wouldn't be shocked if we blew them out today.

So for some of you its perfectly acceptable that a business can go out of its way to ensure not paying benefits, and you have no problem with this and consider it just business.
Fair enough, opinions vary, but for me its a lousy thing to do from a company that's making money off those people its going out of its way to hinder.

Obamacare has done more harm than can ever be measured in this regard.. so many people working less hours, or having to work multiple jobs to get the same hours, but i guess it makes the employment numbers look good, lol

These stats are not the absolutes people think they are and are certainly dont tell the story accurately when you look at examples such as what you have listed.

Im sorry but sometimes i wonder if some of you ever actually played the game at more than a little league level.

There are things that do not exist on a scorecard.  Things like protection in the order, presense in the lineup, other things like this that mean nothing on stats sheets, nothing in WAR, nothing in anything other than the reality of playing the game.

Guys will pitch around Cespedes, they are very much aware of where he is in the lineup, when he is coming to bat, and what they need to do to not let him have impactful swings...  He makes other around him better whether he is performing or not.
 
i guarantee you, noone is thinking that way about Fuld...
