IIIII reacted to DMVol in What is it that Eppler/Ausmus see in Garcia?
Looks like a pretty typical Alvarez year to me...he’s average, which is better than Garcia, who is terrible...I’d rather have Alvarez...

This post deserves to be in the AW Hall of Fame.

Ok, let's put this perspective. Think of the Angels rotation and bullpen as a bunch of Vikings that set sail to plunder. Along the way the wars took out some of them, disease took out some of them, the storms at sea took out some of them.
Garcia can still row.

IIIII got a reaction from Vladdylonglegs in Griffin Canning back to the IL with elbow inflamation; MRI reveals no structural damage but he will be shut down for the rest of the season
Welcome to the Angels. Mine as well get TJ now to get it over with. I was wondering if the elbow would hold up when they brought him back and the answer was no. fml

IIIII got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in Betts for Adell?
If Sale was a young legit MVP candidate why would the White Sox Trade him? Same with Harper. The list goes on and on.
Cmon now.

No bid deal. The Eppler Plan has always been to return to contention in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021.

IIIII got a reaction from Taylor in Really hate Upton in the 4 spot
Coming into yesterday he had an OPS of 1.053 in his last 50 at bats. He's right where he should be. Nobody else in the lineup is worthy or good enough for that spot. Obviously Goodwin should be playing more but he can take at bats from a mix of players.

IIIII got a reaction from Game 6 in Angels call up Miguel Del Pozo, send Suarez down
Peters wasn't great on Monday but two huge errors resulted in runs. Then Garcia came in and gave up a big hit to the first guy. Realistically it should have been a 5 ip 1 run start. Doing that while he didn't have his best stuff is a great sign.

IIIII reacted to zenmaster in Betts for Adell?
Haters gonna hate but we can only hope that Adell becomes anywhere near what Betts has been so far.

IIIII got a reaction from REDneck in Betts for Adell?
Assuming you are sure Betts signs an extension how could you not do this? Anyone saying no is oblivious. Realistically Adell never reaches the peak Mookie is currently at. You can then go and spend money on pitching with Pujols coming off the books soon.

IIIII got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Do you think that the game has changed too much?
I do love the larger variety of stats that really help us determine who is good or not (Jeter was overrated). I miss the strategies that used to exist (SBs, bunting, etc.). I also do not like the length of SP outings as well as large amount of shifting even though I understand why it's happening.

IIIII got a reaction from Angel Oracle in FYI Bill Walton is calling the game tonight
Because the White Sox Pbp is one of Walton’s main partners in college basketball. He’s asked him to come on before and Walton finally agreed.
The main color guy took a 4 day break so the White Sox are getting famous people to come on for each game. The Clippers did the same thing with Billy Crystal for a game earlier this year.
I personally think it’s awesome and it would be cool to have a famous Angels fan come on for a game. That or a past player.

No but he called the Angels one of the most successful franchises. Or dynasty franchises or something like that.

This is kind of a sweeping generality, but if you don't like Walton doing games, you don't like life.
It's all tongue in cheek.

IIIII got a reaction from Fish Oil in Jose Ramirez
Indians fans talked about this on Reddit. It’s because he tried to completely change his game to beat the shift. He was trying too hard to hit it to the opposite field which ruined other parts of his hitting game. They even pinpointed the date when he just went back to his old swing and that’s about when he ocmeoltely turned it around.
