gurn67 got a reaction from LAA in Scioscia: "Jerome not as stretched out as he eventually will be."
Langston actually called Scioscia out on Angel Talk tonight several times. To paraphrase, he said he saw a pitcher that was cruising and totally in control of the game. He hadn't had a lot of stressful innings and had great control of his sinker all night and all he had given up was an infield hit. It would be different if the Angels had a lights out bullpen. He said Scioscia needed to have guys warmed up, just in case, but needed to get the whip out and get him to the finish line.
Nice to hear an Angels' announcer state the obvious, too bad he probably won't be around too long.
Of Course, Terry never said a word. He's been here 12 seasons and would like to keep it that way.
Hearing Jerome's comments after the game, it's obvious he agreed with Langston as well.

Yes, lets disregard his 639 PA appearances in 2012 when he had one of the greatest seasons in MLB history and lets go instead with the 39 PA as a leadoff hitter he's had in 2013.

The guy has a .097 slugging pct. with runners in scoring position this year. Not batting average, slugging pct. That goes way beyond "kinda sucks"

Until Arte realizes it's better to invest money in international scouting and player development than overpaying for free agents.

During his time here, Ken Hill was 22-28 with an ERA of 4.95 during the height of the steroid-era. Don't insult Ken Hill by comparing him to Blanton.

All I know is if I could get odds on whether this team will be 10 or more games out at some point in May, I'd bet everything I own.

Amazing this is he's done it without one attempt against Angels' catchers or Tommy Hanson!

At game 33, the 2002 team was 17-16 and in the middle of their second 8 game winning streak since starting 6-14.
Game 34 was a 19-0 rout of the White Sox which was the first game of a three game sweep.
Comparing this team to the 2002 team is like comparing Hamilton's paycheck to mine.

Sorry, but this isn't 2012 and there's no once in a generation talent to call up and there's no surplus at AAA to trade for help. Like Bobby Knight once said of rape, if it's inevitable, relax and enjoy it.

Can't wait to see how many empty seats there are at those mid-May home games against the Royals. I think we might give the Marlins a run for their money especially without all the 99 cent tickets on stubhub.

Maybe signing a closer who's healthy and expected to be available opening day would be a good idea.

I don't know if it's the environment here. I don't know if it's the coaching and preparation. What I do know is it seems for the past few years a majority of the players the Angels have brought in have not performed as well here as they did in their previous organization. On the other hand, a majority of the players who have left here have performed better when they have left. Scouts have been held responsible, coaches have been held responsible, general managers have been held responsible, players have been held responsible. Hell, I think even the trainer and clubhouse guy were held responsible. To me, there's only three guys left from the downfall of the glory years of 2002-2009 who have a major impact on the team. So who is it? Arte? Scioscia? Butcher? Where does the buck stop?

I now know that if I die and go to hell where I'm going to end up. I'm going to be stuck in a room for eternity with three people. A Sciosica apologist, a Bush apologist and an Obama apologist.

gurn67 got a reaction from YouthofToday in Roger Lodge goes on a rant!!!
He's been going on and on all afternoon about how this team is unmotivated, doesn't play hard and should be embarrased by their lack of effort. In fact, the coach should be let go.

Of course, he's not talking about the team owned by the guy who signs his paycheck, he's talking about the Lakers.

Let me try to follow Lodge's "logic". The Lakers recovering from a historically bad start, not having a healthy Gasol or Nash all year, and losing their best player two games before the start of the playoffs is the coach's fault.

However, by Lodge's "logic", the Angels underachieving for 3+ seasons is not the coach's fault. He had Richard Justice on after one of Lakers' rants. The word "ridiculous" was used when talking about fans who call the show and want Scioscia replaced because, according to them, all Scioscia does is make out the daily lineup card. He has no effect on how the team performs on the field.

Since motivating your team to play at a high level is only a requirement in the NBA and not MLB, let me be the first of thousands of Angels' fans to volunteer, at no cost to Mr. Moreno, to make out the daily lineup card.

I don't know if he's a giant douche or a turd sandwich. I just hope Trout and Harper can stay injury free and fulfill their potential. The NBA had Magic VS. Bird but I can't think of a similar duo in MLB. Two guys with unbelievable talent, coming up at the same time, playing on opposite coasts and, hopefully, playing in a few World Series against each other.
