The middle east has been a shit-hole for thousands of years, so I can hardly blame Bush or Obama for what is going on over there.  They do it mostly to themselves.

I'd like to see an international coalition, comprised substantially of the Arab nations, march in there and kill each and every person who swears allegiance to ISIS. Burn them to death, behead them, I don't really care. Then burn their black flags. If the Arab nations need help from America, I'd be ok with it, but I wouldn't want us being the substantial majority of troops.

I find it funny how you're not allowed to criticize Obama without a lib chiming in about Bush.
I never even brought up my opinion of GWB.
IMO Bush has very little to do with what is currently going on over there. I'm no expert and I definitely think Bush ****ed up, but how in the world would things be so drastically better in the Middle East if Bush was never president? That just seems fishy to me...

Great question Vladdy. I don't consider myself a "chicken hawk." I am on the fence as to what should be done here. But I would probably be ok with ground troops. So I will put myself into the "hawk" camp for purposes of your question, and answer it as follows:
I would absolutely not send my two sons over to fight ISIS. I'd do anything I could to avoid such a thing, including going to live in, gulp, Canada. That may very well make me a hypocrite on this issue.
That being said, a significant number of our armed forces sign up for exactly this type of fight. They want to fight, they feel it is a worthy fight and one in which they are willing to engage even at their own risk. If these types want to sign up and go fight ISIS, I will not object to contributing in the ways I can (I.e., paying for the fight with taxes).

i really don't think anyone is clamoring for a war. Seems like some are merely saying something has to be done to stop these savages.
    what would you suggest?

Not sure where in any of my posts I said I want to go to war. I'm not military strategist so I don't pretend to know exactly how this should be handled. I just don't think ignoring the situation and hoping it all works out is the best course of action. As someone who has lost a child I can say that is the worst feeling any human can go through so I see your point on having our children fight in any war at all. Of course people would change their minds and opinions if there were a draft. I 100% agree that it would be nice if the other nations over there to deal with this but they will need some foreign aid to help them.

Just to get this straight. We shouldn't be over there or provide any assistance? What happens when the "JV squad" becomes professional level? What if these other countries can't effectively deal with this mess?

Seriously, does anybody actually sit around and think "man, you know what would make this moment better?  Some reggae!"  I don't have it in my heart to hate any type of music but if I did, I'm sure it would be reggae.

I'll give the president credit for the 2,000-plus airstrikes so far. It's a good start. But dialogue is not going to achieve a thing. These are maniacs we're dealing with here. Total psychopaths and extremely committed. They want to die for Allah. They're not like us.

At this point I would just be happy if the racists at Fox, the lesbos at MSNBC, the commies at CNN and our prez could agree on what to call these ****ers. IS, ISIS, ISIL...

There can be some kind of middle ground.  The world is too connected now to be isolationist in general.  While we can't fix everyting, the idea of letting bad things happen is pretty pathetic.

I would never see this in the theaters, mostly because I think it would be uncomfortable watching that stuff in close proximity to other people.
That being said, my wife has even less interest in the movie (and had no interest in reading the book), so it isn't even something I will have to watch on DVD.
But honestly if it meant I was going to get sex after, I'd sit through it. I'd even pretend to be happy I was there.

I am not seeing a massive difference other than that Mauer is likeable.

Like I said, the pujos contract is worse, but I'd rather have Albert over Joe.

If Joe were still willing to catch, it would be an entirely different ballgame.
