On a similar note, I remember growing up I never understood why people called the Pirates the "Bucs", I specifically remember this during an NLCS in the early 90's in newspaper headlines. It wasn't until a few years later I found out that it meant "Buccaneers" which was another term for Pirate.

I've always loved the nickname Halos, but then again it's been in my baseball vernacular almost my entire life so I've never really questioned it.

Work gave me a choice of Arizona in March for a long weekend, or Florida at the beginning of April for an entire week and a half at a beach house. I couldn't do both so I chose Florida lol
I'll have to catch ST next year, sorry Chuck.

1.) Angels will win the AL West. I'm going all in on this. I seriously hope everywhere the Astros go, trashcans follow and they are heckled incessantly all throughout the season.
2.) 3 Starting pitchers will have ERA's below 4.00. I'm saying Ohtani, Teheran, and Canning.
3.) David Fletcher will be an AL All Star. Along with Trout, Rendon, and Ohtani.

I'll take Goodwin over Puig any day, especially with having Adell waiting in the wings.
Keep Puig as far away from the Angels as possible.

At least a Wild Card spot, and winning the play-in game, but to be honest I really want to see a WS run ala 2002.

It's crazy to think that Altuve was my favorite non-Angels player a few seasons ago, and now I would happily enjoy him being banned from the MLB and forced to spend his remaining years doing the
Midget Little People Pro Wrestling circuit. -
@Capital_Dave doing God's work by educating the masses that the Capital of Kentucky is not Lexington, nor Louisville, nor the Gravesite of Col. Sanders.

Skaggs accounted for only 79 innings last season and averaged less than 100.0 IP per season for the last 4 seasons...yeah, tough to replace that.
Yeah because of that pesky "dying" thing that limited his innings.
It's still weird to me talking about Skaggs' 2019 stats even though they are relevant when comparing the 2020 staff to the 2019 staff. Like It feels disrespectful for some reason in my head, as if we are talking about a pitcher who is replacing him in the rotation due to him being traded or signing with another team. I think it's going to take a while for me to be okay with looking at our pitching staff from just a performance standpoint when comparing to Skaggs' pitching role during the 2019 season.

I'll pull back the AW curtain a bit and show the title history of this thread over the past week

I still don't understand why the Dodgers would pull out of the deal. They need to shed payroll and clear a roster spot.
It's possible in the past few days they heard that they could get a better return for Joc and/or Stripling? IDK it's speculation and I guess we'll find out in the coming week or so (Maybe)

If Arte pulled out because the Dodgers asked for more than the original deal, or one of our top blue chippers, then I don't fault him, if he pulled out because he is an impatient old man then it's on him, but if the Dodgers pulled the trade because they realized they didn't need the Angels in any of this, then f*$k the Dodgers in every conceivable way.

I don't blame anyone other than the Dodgers. They are the ones who pulled out of the deal.
EDIT: Unless it's true that Moreno pulled out of the deal, which in that case, Fire Arte....???

Looking forward to the thread title update...
I took care of that the second I saw the news on Twitter.

I sent the Dodgers a very measured, and thoughtful response on Twitter.
EDIT: Welp I'm an over-reactive idiot and have deleted my tweet, although here it shall stay for posterity.

I've been so desperate for actual baseball I watched the MIN/TOR game. May the weather Gods show the Angels favor today.
