Most teams weren’t as bad off as the Angels. They had the worst farm system in modern history (by multiple accounts), Arte was unwilling to tank, and we had little to nothing that we could or would sell, and we were hamstrung with multiple bad contracts. That isn’t a standard 3 year fix.
Thats not even accounting for the Astros being one of the best teams in recent memory this season. They are literally stacked from top to bottom.
Blaming Eppler for any of that is ludicrous.
Dombrowski got canned because, championship aside, their future outlook is really bad. Their farm isn’t great, they have bad contracts, they’re about to lose their good players like Betts and JD, and the owner is talking about reducing their budget. He went all in and effed them over.

This is going to be a big deal for the Halos. I imagine this may give Arte cause to fire Eppler and completely clean house.
This will not go down well with Arte. At all.

Addiction is nothing to F*ck around with. I myself have (and continue to) deal with addiction to controlled drugs for Anxiety, as well as alcohol and even food for depression. I'm not at all comparing my situation to Tyler's or anyone else's for that matter.
I just know from experience that addiction sucks and while the blame can ultimately be placed on the individual (I blame no one but myself for my addictive problems), it's far more complicated than "well just stop doing that".
I want to be healthy, both mentally and physically. I hate relying on drugs to be able to Facking go out anywhere. I also hate sitting at home and drinking and eating because it's safe and easy. But I do it every day of every week. I want to live a normal Facking life.
I'm mentally ill. I imagine anyone with an addiction has SOME form of mental illness. You don't do it because you want to, you do it because you need to. That's the issue right there.
I can't imagine what Skaggs or Kay went through. Or maybe I can. Fortunately my addictions haven't killed me yet. Unfortunately for Skaggs...
He deserves a lot of blame. He put so much of this on himself. But why? He didn't just decide one day that Oxy was the coolest. He took that shit for a reason. Maybe a big part of it was physical. But there was unquestionably a part that was mental. After all, these drugs don't just make you feel good physically.

This is about blame. What the hell is wrong with you? This isn't teenage shoplifting. This is hard core drug abuse with a supplier in the organization that facilitated the means to Skaggs death rather than execute his duties and get him help. That fuck face needs to burn for what he did.

If I had to bet, I would bet this is almost in every clubhouse in every pro sports team in every league. These dudes sign these contracts worth millions of dollars and are expected to perform. They numb he pain with this shit. We are the organization that got caught and are dealing with it publicly now.

Fuck this asshole. He just gave $50 million to Tyler's mom by abetting. Money that Arte is going to have to pay because it wasn't some bagage handler. I hope his ass is jailed and nobody gives him a whiff of sympathy because he was an addict.

I'm sorry, but there's a world of difference between smoking weed and using opiates and fentanyl. Our culture is quickly accepting weed to be comparable to booze - and actually it is much safer.
My only concern with players smoking weed is that they might have less motivation to run out grounders.

Angels were pretty dysfunctional under Scioscia/Reagins and Scioscia/DiPoto.
i don’t get the argument for now.

I don’t think one can genuinely be concerned about carbon emissions and also be against nuclear power.
All these green new deal bills are just political theater. Even if America magically becomes carbon neutral tomorrow it would barely dent future temperature rises.
The only way we tackle greenhouse gas emissions globally is new technology that produces consistent, reliable energy that is more cost-effective than oil, coal, and natural gas.

Suarez was facing the top of the order for the third time in less than four innings. If you have some foolish idea he was being effective then there is no amount of logic that would convince you that after walking the #8 hitter then hitting the next batter wasn't cause to remove him.

I get that. Openers are just another pebble onto the rock pile of changes that have caused that.

I think openers are pretty much only used for pitchers who would not have gotten 162 innings anyway. And the point of the opener is to get more innings for the bulk pitcher, not less.
But I think that even the good pitchers are seeing their innings go down just because of injury fear and more bullpen use.

Again, you don’t draft for need. You draft for perceived future value.
