AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Docwaukee in Orange County Register: Change of approach didn't work for Angels' Santiago
Hector can be a 2/3 for half a dozen starts and then blows up for 2 which makes him a back of the rotation guy. That's fine.
He's also a decent swing man in a pinch. I say keep him. He's kind of a nut, but he's worth having around over what you might get for him in trade.

Texas scored 2 runs yesterday.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Blarg in Orange County Register: One bad pitch spoils good day for Angels closer Street
It wasn't just one bad pitch. Street left the game with bases loaded after a succession of poor pitches and retiring only one batter.
The game would have had a different complexion if the Angels hadn't stranded Trout earlier on third base with only one out. Poor situational hitting left one of the fastest guys in baseball 90 feet from scoring.
It did not hinge on one bad pitch.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Bruce Nye in Analyzing the A's downfall
I can't fault BB for signing Kazmir. He had a decent year with Cleveland in 2013 - 4.00 ERA and 1.32 WHIP a 1 to 1 IP/K ratio. The A's lost Griffin and Jarrod Parker before the season.

I'm voting Cespedes for MVP then.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Jeff Fletcher in Analyzing the A's downfall
Let me add: anyone who thinks that Donaldson, Moss, Vogt, Crisp, etc. would have their performance fall because Cespedes was no longer around does not understand Major League Baseball players.
I don't buy the "pitchers approach the lineup differently when he's in there" argument either because he was not Barry Bonds. He's a good player but not the kind who changes the entire dynamic of a lineup.
They had a lot of injuries and slumps that coincided with the trade.
John Lester has been one of the top 10 starters in the majors. They replaced Jesse Chavez with John Lester every 5 days and they replaced Cespedes with Johnny Gomes for 1/9th of their PAs.
Obviously I'll agree that the deal is only good for '14 and if they don't win this year, is has a chance to be bad. But if you only care about this year, which I believe was the A's thinking, it was totally logical to think they'd be better this year with Lester than Cespedes.
And once they're in the playoffs, Lester on the mound... I'd take that.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to Angelsjunky in Analyzing the A's downfall
Norris, Moss, Donaldson, and Vogt were all having as good or better years than Cespedes.
It is also worth nothing that Lester has performed far better for the A's than Cespedes for the Red Sox.

@Alden_Gonzalez: After ballpark celebration last night, #Angels partied at Goat Hill Tavern. They closed down the bar for 'em at 2 am, lined up cabs outside.

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to AngelArcher in Can the ANGELS sweep the major awards?
Shoemaker and even Richards might finish with more votes than Weaver. Wins...lol, what is this, 2005?

AngelsAndRamsFan reacted to tennischmp in Can the ANGELS sweep the major awards?
Weaver isn't going to be in the top 5 of CY votes.
Abreu is a lock for ROY although Shoe will be a solid second

AngelsAndRamsFan got a reaction from Ray McKigney in One of the best stretches I can remember
@pedromoura: The Angels have now scored seven or more runs in eight straight games. No MLB team had done that in 11 years. Record is 11 straight games.
Save some runs for the playoffs.

Very opportunistic, but they are beating up on bad pitching. See if they can carry it over to next week when they play Seattle.

Should have been a homerun. He landed on the wrong side of the fence.

AngelsAndRamsFan got a reaction from Halos of Anaheim in Chris Carter's slash line against the Angels
Against the Angels, he turns into the baseball version of Chris Carter the HOF football player. Instead of the HOF football player that only caught TD's, all he does is hit HR's against the Angels.

Seriously.
99% of the time..you win 60, you lose 60 and you play for the 42 other games.
