With how dry the catching market is I wouldn’t be opposed to giving Lucroy a 2 year extension. Are there really any better options out there?

Some Angel fans are agitated and for good reason.  Some are looking for some glimmer of hope - like Ohtani being back in the lineup... anything that contradicts that idea is going to be met with disdain...  We all want to see Ohtani back in the lineup. Some of us are more patient about that than others. 
This team sucks right now.  It's frustrating.  It's demoralizing.  When you can't beat a Yankees team without Judge, Gregorius, Stanton, Andujar, Sanchez, etc. - it makes you feel like they can't beat anyone.  It's to the point where Angel fans are so on edge that they start to turn on one another...  Couple that with the second guessing of Ausmus - which is understandable and probably warranted and this is where we are.
Every little comment can be taken any which way.
I was at the game last night and it was such a pathetic crowd that it made me feel like the overwhelming majority of Angel fans have basically given up.  Not everyone is cut out for watching this crap.  It's hard.  I don't know why I do it some times. I guess I have nothing better to do.

Two things:
1) The Eppler Plan saw 2020 as being a more probably timeframe to contend - maybe even 2021. That's when the best prospects will start to pay dividends on the major league level. Eppler wasn't writing 2019 off, but it was/is a bit of a long-shot.
2) Now if  you're dead-set on contending this year, remember that we're only seven games in. Let's see how April plays out. Consider it a "let's see what we have" month. Once we get to May, hopefully the team will be playing better, and we may also start seeing prospects coming up: Thaiss, Ward, Rengifo, Walsh, Canning, Suarez, etc. Not to mention Ohtani.
Eppler hasn't failed or even disappointed. We really should have modest expectations for this year, but it is very early. Enjoy Trout, keep an eye on the farm, and hope for the best, but think in terms of the long-term.
