Going to a game soon with my 5 year old daughter. I imagine there will be a memorial under the hats similar to Adenhart. Not sure how I'm going to explain to her why there are flowers as we enter the park. I know she is going to ask questions.
Maybe I'll just start with "It's not a good idea to associate yourself with people from Oakland."

okay, i need to clarify.
Like @Adam in his college years, yesterday was all about experimenting.
My sister-in-law who just passed away gave us a Roku stick a few months ago. We set it up yesterday to see what it offered for quality. We had interest in it because through it we could get a couple of religious satellite tv channels our church sponsors, and that was important to us. Also important is that there wasn't any cost to us, and we're looking to cut back on a few of our expenses. Paying almost $200 a month for directv is not sustainable.
We have taken a look at playstation due and like what it offers for channels. It solves the Golf Channel/Fox Sports issue for us but doesn't include NHL Network. We'll have to live with that it seems.
The reviews we're reading about playstation due make it sound like it has some issues with having to reset it several times a day due to freezing or the screen going blank. Has that been common for those of you here who have it?
Anyone have Sling TV? Thoughts, opinions, problems, praises?
I've had Vue for 2 years now and not once have I had a freezing issue. Sounds like a device is causing it to freeze. Back when I signed up I was using Roku, but the UI was horrible. The FireTv fixed that. But I'm sure Vue has updated the roku UI since then. With Vue I also get Fox Sports San Diego which is a nice bonus.
I had Hulu for a short time but ditched it since the Vue already had the same shows I watched.

Are you stupid?
Trout doesn't get shifted on because he will beat you to all fields.
The shift is for hitters that play over the line instead of using the entire field and I don't have a problem with it if the defense exploits their weakness. If you're so incompetent with the bat that you can't hit opposite field then you need to be replaced in the lineup instead of getting a handicapping rule.
Baseball didn't get less exciting because of the shift. It's because we have more lackluster players that have a one dimensional game.
You could have made your point without the insult. You are becoming more of an ass in your old age.
You also could have read my follow up that using Trout was a bad example.

Require two infielders to be on each side of second base when a pitch is released (if not, the ball is dead and the umpire shall call a ball). (A rule change isn't necessary. Just bunt the ball down the line. They're giving you the base. If hitters start taking it, they'll stop shifting.)
So you would be happy if Trout bunted the ball every time he was at the plate? Trust me, teams will still shift because a bunted single is better than what he could actually do swinging the bat.

yes, it is.
Judge received a reprimand from MLB for telling Machado he'd look good in pinstripes.

Yet if Bryce called out for Pujols, he would be everyone's favorite player.
-
Bryce has zero impact on whatever decision Trout does with his career. Bryce is ultra competitive and wants to win. So of course he wants the best player in baseball to be his teammate. None of this shocking.

I like it. I can ride a ferry before the game, then after the game park my car on that boat to take me back.

I said no because I don't like the idea of making this a whole winter-long affair. I'd more likely be that guy who's signed before Thanksgiving and not heard from again until ST
If Boras represented you while expressing your desire to be signed by Thanksgiving, he would get it done.

Boras works for the player and what THEY want. Weaver wanted to stay an Angel and Boras worked out a deal.
When Adenhart passed, he was front and center at the press conference. Guy was seriously heart broken at the loss of Nick, and not the potential money.
Boras is great and getting what the player wants. Of course I would have him represent me. I know he will take the heat if I wanted to play for a different organization.

I'm not concerned about the size of land or parking. Petco and SF figured it out. The biggest problem is redesigning the roads. I'm sure city planners will require widening of roads and freeway exits to accommodate stadium traffic. I don't see how they can get the land for that.

Yeah, I've always gone to baseball games for the view OUTSIDE the stadium. Doesn't everyone?
Absolutley. Probably one of the best views in a stadium I've seen.
