Do people really care about this? Abuses power? Unless I read this wrong, he paid for sex. Is he somehow involved in the human trafficking? Or did he simply pay some chick to have sex with him?
I think George Carlin said it best when he asked, “why is it illegal to sell something that is perfectly legal to give away for free?”
Not even vaginal sex. Just happy endings and a beej. Cops have hundreds of men on warrants for misdemeanors. They will be quickly interrogated to see if they knew about the sex ring. If not, they will just plea for minor damages out of court.
I expect Kraft to donate a large sum of money to an advocate against human traffic. He will then hire someone to bring prostitutes to an Airbnb.

Weird. The Patriots and a secret, hidden camera. Who could have ever guessed.
So how does it feel to be videotaped without your permission?

Amazing that they would go back 8 years and delete a tweet like that.
Goes to show this has been going on for at least 8 years...

That would effectively kill the franchise in a few years....they might contend in the short run if their prospects pan out but they wouldn't have any money to spend on anything else going forward....think of all the things we could have done with the 450 million we spent on Pujols, Hamilton and CJ Wilson....
A ton of damage had we signed them when they were 25-26.

Here's one thing I don't understand.
Why the f does it take till Feb 19th for the Padres to come to the table with this offer?
It's not like they waited out the situation and got a smokin' deal. They paid full retail.
If that's where they were willing to go all along, why not bring something close to the table 3 months ago?
Are you really going to tell me that they decided to spend 300 mil at the last minute?
I wasn't in favor of setting FA deadlines but this has changed my mind.
The data doesn't change. The eval's of Machado don't change. Does it really take that long to go back and forth with offers?
Machado was clearly looking for a particular number. Does it really take that long to get there if you were willing to go there?
I see it differently. The Padres going in probably thought 10/300 wouldn't be enough for either Manny or Bryce. Seeing that in the early stages, teams were not offering anything close to that figure, why would the Padres go out and offer their 10/300 only for agents to use that as their base for bargaining. The Padres risked easily losing to a bidding war.
With Spring Training so close, the Padres saw that both players were still available thus making it their time to strike. Time was now on the Padres side with both players being involved in talks, it created a sense of urgency. There wasn't time for the agents to shop the deal (also knowing that other interested teams had gone this far without that much of an offer).
Although the data didn't change for Manny, the FA negotiations sure did. And the Padres adjusted to the market. I'm sure they overpaid a bit, but not by much. They probably could have got a 9/270, but why risk it at that point.

Due to streaming, there is no barrier for regional networks. Consumers are more spoiled than ever at getting what they want...and now. If MLB is unwilling to restructure their regional coverage, someone will figure out a way to get around it. Thus leaving money on the table.

Now I wonder what Harper gets. I was thinking machado would get closer to 250, then Harper wouod be 'forced' to accept something along the lines of the Nats offer. Now I wonder if he gets 350 from someone.
Not necessarily. They play different positions and therefore aren't in the same market. The fact the Padres were late to the party for both parties show that the offers were not as high as GMs were expecting.
I'm believing the reports that the highest Manny offer was by the Chi Sox at 8/250. I bet the Padres offer of 10/300 was available to both Manny and Bryce. Manny was the first to bite seeing that might be the biggest offer for either player.
I still believe Bryce goes to the Phils, but the Phils may have the upper hand. I would be surprised if it's much higher than Manny's deal.

Was rooting for Bryce, but good move for the Padres.

Good response. His focus should be on getting ready for the season.

Perfect. That sounds like the most sense (thanks!).
For example, I decided to go through the non movie channels i figured id miss most. First ones that popped into my head were FX, TBS, TNT and the History channel.
Then I realized im not getting those anyway. I switched plans a few years ago...annnnd didnt even notice that i dont have them.
Take a look at PlutoTV. Its legitimately free with tons of content. With the locals, companies are looking at offering a streaming platform for free. Locast has started their free streaming service in NY, Boston, Houston, and Denver. Hopefully it continues to grow.
As people continue to cut cable, networks like History channel will start offering their own service. I can guarantee that the transition from cutting cable is easier than expected and will notice the cost savings.

Alright, so i finally have my new internet set up. Now I can stream whatever I need (amazon prime, netflix, etc).
So to get rid of cable, walk me through it. I only really care about FOX sports, but even then, only during baseball season.
Would be nice to have the local channels, but not a huge need. I only turn them on if i need to catch local news.
So my plan is to just pay for the movie channels through amazon. Unless someone has a better option.
So the main question, whats my next step, and what kind of money am i looking at? Hulu looks like its 50 a month, and the movie channels will make it about 90 a month...thats only about 20 less than directv is costing me right now. What am i missing?
If you are only needing Fox Sports during the baseball season, then cut the cord. I have Psvue and I get both Fox Sports feed for San Diego and LA. I pay $49.99 all in.
I do get all the locals with Psvue but you can get the locals with a HD TV antenna. So during the off season, you can easily stop the Psvue with a click of a button. Then turn it back on whenever you want. Also, there are no extra equipment or service fees with streaming.

That's an odd comparison.
Hey Patriots. You just won the Super Bowl. Where are you going to go next?
