eligrba got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in Rosenthal: The Angels don’t want to trade Mike Trout — so they need to make him an offer
I wonder if the Angels have thought about this?
We all owe a debt of gratitude to Rosenthal for bringing this issue forward.
What insight!!!

eligrba reacted to Second Base in Rosenthal: The Angels don’t want to trade Mike Trout — so they need to make him an offer
Mike Trout won't be traded, and the Angels are going offer him more money than they've ever offered anyone ever. If Mike Trout leaves, it will be because he wanted to, not because the Angels didn't.

eligrba got a reaction from Taylor in Shohei Ohtani Has New UCL Damage
Trout has earned the right to determine his destiny. I will not fault him if he signs elsewhere....its tough to watch this shit as a fan, I can't imagine being involved in it as a generational player. Trout leaves the Angels for other reasons than money; I think he has earned it.

Doesn't really change what Eppler needs to do to improve this team. This is not that catastrophic because he can still potentially play during his recovery. It will be fun to see what he can do when focused on only one aspect of the game.

Whatever the problem, rest assured that the smartest man in the Mariner organization will solve it with a trade.

As part of my community service requirement, I decided to pick up some garbage lying around on AW. Anyone know where I can get an extra large trash bag?

LOL at fighting each other, and then losing at home to the 41-98 O's
Stick a fork in 'em.

Pretty amazing that when Ohtani needs TJ surgery and can't pitch next season we can just say, "alright well he can hit 30 homeruns as an everyday hitter". He really is a special player and we are still incredibly lucky to have him.

eligrba reacted to Inside Pitch in Shohei Ohtani Has New UCL Damage
From presser...
Angels are waiting to see IF he wants the surgery... Its up to Shohei.
They won't know how long between surgery and when he could DH until it gets done.
Angels were aware this could be the outcome.
Plan is for him to hit still. They will discuss it with Ohtani on monday.
Angels have not written off PRP injections... Every player is different, team will look at all medical options...
Emotional blow for organization and the player. Eppler says team and player committed to each other.
Team still sees him as a two way player.
Angels doctors have recommended TJS. Of that there is no doubt. Still up to the player.
If you throw 100 mph you run the risk of injury....
Team will not trade Trout ... Team will continue to invest, improve team. Looking at all ways to contend next year.
Hitting didn't impact elbow.
Angels had Ohtani pitch simulated games in lieu of minor league games for greater control of his recovery. All medical data cleared him to throw.
.....
Presser over.

eligrba got a reaction from Angel Oracle in September Could Be Interesting
You have the same rights to express your thoughts as the kneeling football players. I am frustrated with the tribalism that has established itself creating an "us against them" mentality. Civil discourse requires a level of integrity that is missing in today's society. I think I understand why someone would interpret the act of kneeling during the national anthem as an action trashing the flag or anthem. Both are powerful symbols that can illicit very personal and visceral responses. I grew up thinking that alcohol, tobacco and firearms meant a family reunion trip. I suspect we probably have more similarities than differences, but our differences are just as important to protect as our similarities.
Now back to regular programming.
Red Sox suck.

eligrba got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Why I'm Somewhat Optimistic for Next Year
A new manager makes everyone better is what the Nationals thought. I think it depends on the manager's approach, the players response and the level of talent in the lineup.

I wish black people didn't have reason to protest. Then we'd be a lot closer to being united.

Cool. The Angels should print scouting report information on the back of emery boards for every pitcher since it is now legal.
