Angels Never Die

The Angels have always been my team since I was little, but I didn't start really paying attention until around 96/97. So the 90's Angels are pretty nostalgic for me, as horrible as they were most of the time. I was very sad when they traded J.T. Snow, and then Edmonds.

It is okay to think Arte was a bad owner overall, while still giving him credit for a positive move.  This is where I am now - I don't think he was good for the franchise overall, but I do appreciate that he's spending money to improve the club now when he has no obligation to do so.

If they have any sense, they'd invest a lot more in scouting

I don't really care for them using the same failed strategy they've been doing for years, so I'm not exactly filled with hope, especially since he's never been all that durable. But hey, if it works out I won't be complaining.

They both proved to me this past season that both are absolutely 100% worth keeping. I don't think anyone wants Plan A for the Angels to be trading either of them. 
But for me some of the things to consider are...
Starting pitchers acquired by trade tend to be a little safer investment than those available in free agency. They tend to be younger. You are getting someone you want, as opposed to selecting the best available from free agency Not perfect logic, but the FA pitchers are there because at least somewhere along the lines, teams let them reach free agency. With a trade you're trying to match up with a team that might not WANT to trade an arm, but needs to in order to fill a need Risk of investment. If you lose Luis Castillo to TJS, you're losing $7.5m salary this year. Yes, you lost prospect capital too, but those players likely weren't adding value to the MLB club. If you lose Max Scherzer or Robbie Ray to TJS, you're watching $25m+ burn that you badly needed.  Quality OF production being more readily available in free agency - Soler, Joc, Canha, Taylor, Rosario, Marte, even Kole Calhoun are all reasonably priced and most cheaper than even mid-tier FA SP. Sure, they could crap out and not be good, but finding a quality corner outfielder midseason is a lot easier and cheaper than a quality SP replacement. Case in point, the Braves. And you'd ideally still have the other of Marsh or Adell in-house.

Dude, Baldwin is an actor on a closed set and he is neither the prop master or armorer.  He was handed a gun that was declared "cold" which means unloaded.  It was supposed to go through two safety checks before handed to the actor but the chain if possession was fucked. There was not supposed to be live rounds on the set at all.
This is not a Baldwin problem, it's a you problem trying to assign blame to a lib you hate. Get the fuck over it, it was a tragedy brought on by a shitty production company hiring 3rd rate crews.

It's a shame, I really didn't want to remember Pujols like this.

You have to purposely make time to recharge. It can be just as important as socializing.

For me, it's all about taking purposeful alone time and communicating that to others, even if you're scared they'll react badly. Make time for yourself and be real with other people about your needs (it's likely they won't react negatively.) I'm very introverted, and I've gotten better at socializing and putting on a happy face, but it wipes me out so fast. I've had social anxiety, depression, and I've dealt with some agoraphobia (I'm mostly over it now,) so I've really had to find a system in my life that allows for me to conserve my energy better. 

It's a shame, I really didn't want to remember Pujols like this.

It's a laid back sport that satiates my OCD with endless statistics and obsession with precision and order, and it's a fun thing to do with my partner. I'm much more likely to get laid if the Angels win.
