Fuck Arte for not trading him. That prospect haul could've been a nice boost to the farm system; even if it was a 1/2 year rental.

Hot take but, I think ultimately the loss of Ohtani makes them a better "team" in the long run. Those funds will be allocated elsewhere and it wont require a 6 man rotation. His MVP bat will hurt but i think it forces the funds to be used in other more pressing areas.

It doesn't feel like a gut punch because I saw this shit coming years ago. The fact that the Angels got nothing in return and ended up with a sub .500 record over the last 2 seasons is comical more than tragic.
