yk9001 reacted to TroutField in John Kruk on C.J. Wilson
Kruk is terrible to watch, no idea how he keeps his job.
Mod edit *keep to the subject at hand.

yk9001 got a reaction from VariousCrap in "It didn't start well last year and I stayed around all season and it got better,"
Simers goes into the locker rooms and consistently interviews his subjects, even when ridiculing them. He provides analysis, even when local fans might dislike it. Because he is always around his subjects, we find out stuff we might normally find out.
Ever hear anything interesting out of a Scioscia postgame presser? Ever?
Simers gets interesting sh*t out of even Sosh.

yk9001 got a reaction from meat in question re: Pujols' contract
If he wanted a legacy, he would have stayed in St. Louis, where he was a hero and won multiple WS. Instead he threw away his legacy, moved his family (or separated himself from his family) all to chase the few extra sheckels that Arte offered.
Dudes like that do not give up millions on the table.

yk9001 got a reaction from AZMike in Hamilton is making no progress
Our season was doomed the minute I saw this pic

yk9001 reacted to Fontana Halo in oh boy, Buck and McDorkster
I put it on mute after I heard "Mike Scioscia teams are typically great base running teams"

yk9001 got a reaction from RallyMo in Pujols thread from STL Fans
The angel fans here look worse than anyone.
We are stuck holding the bag.
Guys like RallyMo WANT to think all their fans are butthurt. But most fans aren't on message boards. They are probably just enjoying their teams.

yk9001 reacted to Homebrewer in This team reflects their leader
The only time this manager seems to get upset is when someone fails to get a bunt down or otherwise messes up his "productive out" philosophy.

yk9001 reacted to AZMike in This year's Angels billboard
The saddest thing is the only way you can get up to 11 appearances is if you count 2011 twice (since current angels were involved on both sides of that series) and also include world series where Iannetta was playing for the Rockies, Blanton was playing for the Phillies, and Fat Man was playing for the Dodgers:
2011 - Cardinals / Rangers appeared (Pujols, Hamilton, CJ, Lowe)
2010 - Rangers (Hamilton, CJ)
2009 - Phillies (Blanton)
2008 - Phillies (Blanton)
2007 - Rockies (Iannetta)
2006 - Cardinals (Pujols)
2004 - Cardinals (Pujols)
2002 - Angels (Scioscia)
1988 - Dodgers (Scioscia)
1981 - Dodgers (Scioscia)
I'm pretty sure nobody on our active roster was involved in World Series in 2003, 2005, or before 2002. Correct me if I'm mistaken.

I just want to climb up there and spray-paint a giant 6-4-3 across the damn thing.

yk9001 got a reaction from Glen in I'm actually starting to believe that Albert is 37 instead of 33
I think I may be onto what AO's big theme for 2013 is. But I don't know for sure.

yk9001 reacted to Sully151 in Darvish v Pujols, 5 balls at once
Isn't that how Mickey Mantle saw pitches?
-
yk9001 reacted to Brian Ilten in An off year for Trout looming ??
The ONLY concern Trout has shown me this year was that piss poor attempt at catching that ball last night that turned into the game tying double. He had a horrid route to the ball and then it looked like he was trying to showboat when it wasn't necessary. There was no excuse for someone of his caliber to miss that ball.
-
yk9001 got a reaction from RallyMo in The Angels have led for 21 of 130 innings played this season
for what its worth, baseball reference has their pythag at 4 wins.

yk9001 got a reaction from TroutField in Anyone else see this guy Saturday?
What the hell is wrong with people?
I just can't understand why people think it is okay to pluralize with an apostrophe.
This world is going to hell in a handbasket.

yk9001 got a reaction from Brent Maguire in Failed hit and run last night
Will you just mind your own business.
Everything I wrote in that post was correct. EVERYTHING. I watched it. I don't give a shiat what MLB play by play said.

yk9001 got a reaction from Brian Ilten in The Latest From AngelsWin.com: Angels Fans: This is NOT Your College Tequila
Nobody is asking you to fart rainbows over them. Just like nobody asked for your tequila opinions.
Are you really that socially dense? It is pretty clear based on the the original post, and Chuck's endorsement, that there is some sort of arrangement/partnership going on between the tequila maker and angelswin. Out of respect for the site, and Chuck, I think most people understand if tequila isn't their thing, or this brand in particular isn't their thing, they'd just keep their mouth shut.
But apparently, not you - you must be special. Go ahead and regale us with your superior tequila taste and knowledge.

yk9001 got a reaction from AngelsLongBall in Greinke: Fractured collar bone
The best is the guys wringing their hands because the Dodger owners are paying Greinke $147 million.
This is the same Guggenheim who doubled any other offer to buy the Dodgers. Thereby allowing McCourt to pay off all his debts, pay off his bitch ex-wife, and THEN allow McCourt to put a billion dollars in his pocket. Frank McCourt!!
And you are sympathizing with them??
Unreal.

yk9001 got a reaction from The Dude in Greinke: Fractured collar bone
Acting like a tough guy on the mound after you've just plunked somebody can lead to a fight.
A fight can lead to a broken collarbone.
Its simple logic.
