I'm 100% with Scooter Gennett here. Correa is a fucking cheating bastard and he and Altuve are the worst of the lot. They're trying to push this narrative that the Astros are clean now, but somehow I fucking doubt it.
They won a WS by exploiting a loophole. The front office gave up the sacrificial lamb, but they absolutely should've been punished harder. Vacate the WS and explain that any further cheating schemes get them a post season ban, or even removed from the league for a year.
    Fuck the Asterisks.

I don’t think he’s gonna be on a hard innings limit and I think they’ll take a cautious approach, but I’m absolutely expecting 140-150 if he stays healthy.
Why doesn’t someone just ask Him?

Respectfully, I am not sure any of us has enough history with Minasian to accurately speculate what exactly he will or will not do.
Part of my personal excitement right now is exactly this.  What could this guy do that could surprise me?

Wade is an improvement. Hopefully he is the next Tommy LaStella here. And with two primarily right handed bats in the infield as the starters it makes sense to add a lefty.

And the versatility is great too, as you have Ward and Thaiss too.. it’s a good fit.

What is your obsession with a guy who sucked for three years and then there 96 innings for us?
Also, I saw your question on the MLBTR chat... and just to be clear ... we are not friends.

At 180? Sure. 27-30 starts 6 innings average. Also it benefits them how to limit his innings further? He’s not under contract for 5/120.
He’s gonna pitch a lot. Sorry you don’t agree. When I’m right in October you can say we always agreed and I’ll bump this thread.

Not two years after. Two years after is when they regain their form. If you look at TJ guys all the ones who rush back have a year building back strength and control. Those who take longer, end up being much more effective when they do come back. And without an innings limit or reduced work load

Hubs got a reaction from OldAndInTheWay in OC Register: Angels sign lefty reliever Aaron Loup to two-year deal
Love the signing, don't think he's the closer.
Side note, Yan fell off prospect lists pretty quickly in 2021. This is why I am conservative with prospects now after so many years of being burned. I thought Kotchman was going to be Joyner 2.0 or better. Wood was going to be elite.
Guys are far more projectable after success in AA or AAA.
For example, Walsh was never a highly rated prospect, but in 2017 he hit to a .926 OPS in High A. Then struggled a bit in his promotion to AA that year (.680 OPS in 20 games). The following year they started him at High A again, he again destroyed that level at a .969 OPS in 40 games. Then in AA he hit to nearly the same level (.918 OPS), and continued that in AAA, though with some decline (.811 OPS). In 2019, he destroyed AAA to a 1.109 OPS.
Players at the lower levels, like Vera / Jackson / Paris, etc. need to hit much better than they have in the minors to be considered for future every day playing.  Vera hit well in rookie ball, but then struggled in Low A in limited action. This next year, he'll start again at Low A and hope he does better with the bat.
He is only 19, so he has time. But to think he will be the regular SS in 2024, is not facing facts. He'll hopefully split 2022 between Low A and High A, then move to AA in 2023, and AAA in 2024. But if this takes another year, that's ok, as he could debut then in 2026.
Jackson hit better at Low A, so he will might start in High A, but even then, that could be three years before we see him. Paris struggled a bit at his promotion to High A in a limited amount of games, so I would expect him to be there again, and hopefully he can hit much better there which would push him to AA and then he finally may be projectable.

Scherzer has to be plan A, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a trade for a TOR arm, probably Marquez.

They had already lost 2 of those guys and were without Verlander all year yet still won 95 games.  And Tucker and Alvarez could continue to get better.  What they're doing isn't luck.  We have to face facts that they're a good team and have a really strong chance to finish with 95+ wins again.
The Angels have to start winning games in the division.  They were 6-13, 4-15, 8-11, and 11-8 vs. Hou, Oak, Sea, and Tex last year.  That's 29-47.  Or 18 games below .500.  Which means they were 10 games over .500 otherwise.  The best and easiest way to gain ground or put room between you and the teams you are directly fighting against is to beat them.
Texas will be better but probably not by a lot.  Seattle will be very very lucky to be the same but I think they step back by 6-7 games.  Oakland will be worse likely assuming they trade away some key players.  But they won't be an absolute cupcake.
But the Angels actually have a say in how good these other teams are.  If they don't beat them, then they'll look a lot better.    You can't play against your division as if you're a 100 loss team and expect to have a shot.

I'd be okay signing Cobb, but not until January. They have a lot of offseason left and there are several pitchers in the same market range as Cobb, so I wouldn't jump on him.
    RELAX.
