Seriously though they need to add 3-4 offensive pieces, including a RH 1B platoon partner who can play the OF too...
A starting MINF allowing Rengifo and Fletcher to platoon at 2nd and fill in at SS and 3rd.
A backup C who can actually hit.
    Maybe a starting OF.

If they can sign one starter, then they have Detmers, Sandoval and Suarez to be 3/4/5 and about 5-6 candidates for the 6th starter role, they'll be in good shape, and just need to add offense.
Loup, Bradley (probably re-signed), and Tepera are back for the bullpen.

I was making fun of the posters and twitter fans that only wanted pitching last offseason.
The pitching actually has been pretty good. Starters have been below 4 ERA all season, and that's with some suspect fill ins.
With a better offense this team would still be in the playoff hunt.

Cabbage is a lefty but throws righty.
Trey Mancini is one name I would be happy to see. He plays 1st and the OF. Veteran presence. Right handed bat.

Same with Rojas. MacKinnon is a Righty but that ship sailed. Cabbage is a lefty at AA. DiChara (who has just been drafted but is 23) is the DH at AA and he hits righty.

what they should do is sign a versatile and LEGIT backup so if he rebounds the other person can plan a bit of corner OF or some 3b or some 2b.  But that's call depth and if depth punched the Angels in the face from straight on, they'd look behind them.

Rodon has already exercised his player option, he won't be a free agent till after next year.
I can see the Angels getting Bassitt though, that seems like a typical move.
I don't think Bell gets anywhere near that amount.
Profar is not coming here either. Though I can see them taking their offensive budget and going after Trea Turner or Dansby Swanson.

Mo Vaughn was always a weird move, but seeing as our biggest FA or trade acquisition in the 1990's was like Ken Hill or Pat Rapp, it was Nice to see. I remember Tony Phillips too.
While Randy would've made more sense, the biggest boneheaded move was not getting Beltre, as many have alluded to, as it set the string in motion that Brought us Pujols and Hamilton and cost us Hunter.

Sorry, but I'll agree with the over managing at times, but that's all sabremetrics is honestly. Over managing.
Scioscia had better talent than now? Maybe in his first 10 years, but you really think the 2014 team was better than this group? Healthier maybe. They had success because they were put in good situations. By the manager.
This team has more talent and are doing less with it. That's on the manager. Maddon was basically .500, so the lack of results and the deep dive below .500 is entirely on Nevin.
As far as the quick hook, that team, the 2014 team, averaged 5.81 innings per start...and had a better rotation results wise with Richards, Weaver, Shoemaker, Wilson, Santiago & Skaggs. But Ohtani, Sandoval, Detmers, Syndergaard is arguably a better top 4. Bullpen was great. This season, the Angels are averaging 5.09 innings per start.
The 2015-2018 teams had less talent than the 2014 team, and had pitching that struggled.

I am the OP. And to be clear, Ive been posting for 18 years on this site.
Nevin has utterly totally sucked as a manager. The buck stops with him, and I seriously doubt that Maddon would have this team in the same position. I understood why they fired him and I liked him being protective of Trout with the Mariners, but he's gone 16-30 in 46 games. That's worse than any stretch I can remember.
He seems to make weird choices like playing Marsh defensively in Left, when Trout has been out, and playing the worst CF of the three OF (Ward) in CF. Then he'll try something else.
His relief pitching decisions are baffling even to someone who watched Maddon for two seasons. Iglesias should never pitch in tie games. Ever. Peguero sucks in close games too.
The lineup is questionable. The defensive positioning is questionable. Players have long slumps hitting wise and they just keep grinding. Walsh's swing is so messed up right now and Marsh is striking out more than 40% of the time under Nevin.
Players must've been told to take more pitches, and they are watching strike three too often.
    Pinch hitting is questionable.
He has too quick of a hook with starters. Mound visits are non-existent.
Scioscia had his faults, but these last three plus seasons have shown that maybe we all thought he was worse than he was.

I think it's gonna be committee this year, Tepera/Loup/Quijada/Ortega/Chavez all probably get 2-3 save opportunities down the stretch.
Then it's a battle in camp next year.

I agree that we have all sorts of options, but a lot of those guys you have listed are either unproven, injury prone, or have not done much so far with playing time.
If we legitimately want to contend, I would think you'd want at least one legit significant FA SP addition to pair with Ohtani at the top of the rotation.  So - Ohtani, SP2, Sandoval, Detmers, and then hope that you get two guys that emerge amidst all the options you listed.
Our bullpen, of course, also needs significant work, too.
I don't disagree that we need offensive support, too.  Truth be told, this team needs a lot of work, which is perhaps why we decided to trade Iglesias.  There's no need for an expensive closer on a 4 year deal when you aren't on the verge of contention.
