Robrock30 got a reaction from Vegas Halo Fan in Jose Mota leaving the Angels broadcast team
All good things must end. Nice long run. I enjoyed listening to Jose and I learned a great deal from his analysis.
I remember watching his Father play OF for the Pirates pushing for playing time in between Willie Stargell, Matty Alou and of course Roberto Clemente. He was moved because he was too valuable for that role.
I met Jose in person once at an Orioles Game and when I called him over he was gracious.

Best of luck to Jose Mota!
I loved the guy as a person and I felt like he was getting better on broadcasts.
He's been a great friend to the website as well.
Best of luck in your future endeavours, Jose!

He wasn't fired. His contract ran out at the end of 2021. They just chose not to give him another one.

Robrock30 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Thor to wear Adenhart's #34
Eerie reading this while remembering watching Nick Adenhart pitch that April Night in 2009. I remember how masterfully he pitched those shutout innings while dancing out of danger Houdini like thinking he had a Great Future only to awake to the Horrible News the following Morning in Total disbelief wishing it was a mistake.
Oh well Noah Syndergaard now has some additional weight on his shoulders. He reminds me of Jered Weaver with ace potential and I am very familiar with him watching most Mets Games over his career so I too feel this Honor behooves him. Wear it Well is all that I wish for.

Robrock30 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Angels claim Andrew Velazquez off waivers from the Yankees
Being in NY I started hearing his name at the end of last season bringing good energy to the Yankees. He played SS filling in for the disappointing Gleyber Torres and played in the WC Game vs. Red Sox. I recall mostly favorable feeling with him.

Angels need to go all in to sign the next Ichiro. He will be a star at a reasonable cost great hit tool, solid defense with versatility and speed. What's not to like?
Woo him and reel him in to play alongside Ohtani and Mike Trout which gives the Angels a huge advantage versus the other 29 Teams. He looks to be a Superstar to me towering above the crowd. Worry about OF surplus later which at worst can be traded for young cost controlled SP. This is a major task.

Robrock30 got a reaction from failos in Angels re-sign Raisel Iglesias (4 years, $58 million), DFA Selman
Not at all. I like him as a Pitcher so I advise signing him. He is durable injury wise even though he doesn't pitch deep into Games and pitches to contact. He is great defensively at his position. His Twitter is personal but it doesn't impact me objectively as he would be a good SP to have.

Robrock30 got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in Angels re-sign Raisel Iglesias (4 years, $58 million), DFA Selman
I have watched him up close for the past two years and he isn't a bad guy at all. His Father I believe is a retired Police Officer on Long Island. I just find his Twitter activity distasteful and I believe it will depress his market value as it should. There are consequences for one's actions and Teams including White Sox and Yankees and others have removed him from consideration.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Thanks to my science teacher in my 5th year of HS. He taught me the difference between a crocodile and an alligator. One you will see later and the other in awhile.

Robrock30 reacted to totdprods in Seiya Suzuki
The defense isn't good and he was awful half of last year, but Jorge Soler has my eye. He might be good with a one-year deal and re-entering the market next year if there's universal DH.
2019 KC he had a .922 OPS and 48 HR, and 21 with ATL .882 OPS with 25 XBH in ~250 PA. Defense is pretty subpar.
Still, for $8m-10m he might give you what you want from Adell (.900 OPS, iffy defense) as a stop-gap, especially if the Halos need to revisit trade market for a SP.
Adam Duvall and Eddie Rosario, Joc too, might also be worth watching, though Eddie isn't much of a RF, and Duvall doesn't walk much. Have to think some of what led the Braves to be interested in all these guys could also have carried over with Perry.

Loup, 33, made 65 appearances in 2021 for the Mets, going 6-0 with a 0.95 ERA (56.2 IP – 6 ER) & 57 K's. Led all relievers in ERA (min. 50 IP) & held opponents to a career-best .192 (37/193) BA. Held LH batters to a .167 (14/84) BA. Yielded just two XBH's to lefties on the season.
