I see this as an argument for the robot. A strike is a strike as defined by the rule book, not the umpire's perception. Remove the subjectivity, let the hitters adjust, and the game is far better off.
 

for every one of the above example where the ball nicks the zone and the catcher doesn't receive it well so it would never be called a strike, there are 2 or 3 call 3-4 inches off the outside corner that don't touch the zone but guys get wrung up.  Personally, I think it would even out and at least you'd know it was going to be consistent whereas with live umps the zone can change from pitch to pitch.

You guys may recall that last year when Ausmus was introduced they said the exact same shit.  What were you guys expecting them to say ? “It’ll be slow grind but maybe in 5 years we’ll compete” 
it doesn’t mean anything,  none of this means anything.  We’ll see once the hot stove season starts.  The dollars spent on specific players will do all the talking. 

Honestly, 19 years is a freaking long time. Most managers don’t get 1/3 of that. The team sucked for the last few years. There’s nothing special about 20 years. It’s meaningless. If he really felt slighted by not reaching an arbitrary point, my respect for him goes down. That’s absurdly petty. 

It was time for him to leave. He’d been here too long. He was a good manager, but it’s hard to stay effective for that many years in the same place.

No. If Marsh and Adell are both going to be the best options in the outfield. You move the old guy to first not the young kids. 

I can’t see moving Marsh to 1B to keep Upton in left.  I would just move Upton.

Any sanctions will be part of an MLB damage-control strategy.
 

No way do I make this trade if I'm the Angels.  There is a higher chance of Upton bouncing back next season than Price.

Ive been doing this job for quite some time now....since before the economy tanked.  There is ZERO way you get in trouble for lying to the cops during an investigation.
Obstruction is impeding an in progress crime... like hiding a fugitive. Blocking my path if im chasing somone.
 If i ask you if you sell drugs, you say no, and i show you a video of you selling drugs, you still get arrested for drug sales... but no enhancement for lying about it.
Youre not even obligated to speak in the first place..... speaking lies doesnt fall into a new crime.
