Fear not I'm sure they'll come to some agreement last minute to avoid a government shutdown and spend more money they don't really have while we continue to not address the long term problems facing this country. 

The people are here and not leaving because the federal government doesn't do it's job.  Then the states most notably the border states get saddled with the costs associated with illegal immigrants and when they try to do something (i.e. Arizona) the feds step in.  Giving citizenship to people here illegally does nothing if the border isn't secured because we'll be facing the same issue again in so many years.  I agree with mt that it sends the wrong message.  My dad's side of the family came here through legal means which took time and money.  My cousin had to leave the country with his wife who had either her masters or PHD and her student visa ran out but she was still working and making decent money.  The person working at INS told her she technically had to leave the country or she could just walk out the door and not look back.  I don't see anything being done to curb the amount of money we hand out to citizens and non citizens alike and until that's addressed along with social security and medicare I don't agree with giving millions here illegally citizenship.          

I feel old whenever we stop off for a quick drink in certain bars we used to frequent because most of the other patrons look like they should be tucked in bed at home.  I also felt old when I heard that a girl I went to school with has a daughter who started at the same high school we went to this year but to be fair the girl was pregnant our senior year.  Reading a lot of what the rest of you have posted I feel young.  Thanks!

Overall he's been a massive disappointment while in Cleveland. Now in a contract year he's turned it on in the last half of the season. Has the makings of a disaster signing unless he's dirt cheap which likely wont be the case.

I agree Law is overblowing it but I don't agree Trout and his agent would be idiots to pass on such a deal.  In his arbitration years Trout could (and should) set the record for 1st, 2nd and 3 year arbitration eligible players.  He could get 40M or more between those 3 years and when he hits FA we would likely see the biggest contract ever handed out.  Obviously a contract now is guaranteed money but if he's healthy Trout will have no worries financially and can decide where he plays before he even enters the prime of his career.

Unless I'm mistaken there were at least a few guys from the Angels 2002 team that have been implicated.  Let's not start chucking boulders in a glass house. 

I think the people who could ban me would agree that no teams hands are guaranteed clean given how MLB has handled the issue going back for 15+ years. 
 
Regardless if you want to be pissed about a "recent" playoff series I'm going to go with the 2005 ALCS by a landslide.  The Angels won a 5 game ALDS series vs. the Yankees where Colon had to leave early in game 5 and Santana stepped in to get it done in NY.  Then on short rest compared to the Whitesox the Angels went into Chicago and won game 1 when not many thought they would due to fatigue.  Up in game 2 they got umped and never recovered.  Players from all teams could have been roided but getting ump jacked on a ridiculous call still stings.

Cuban is the type of guy that when he's the owner of the team you follow you love him otherwise he's an asshole. I don't think he was ever getting into the MLB owners box even before this because the other owners wouldn't vote him in and that's why he's running his mouth now.

I'm sure the Angels will do everything they can to extend him.  All the other moves they've made have been for the benefit of the team many of them just flat out haven't worked but they're trying.  If he ends up elsewhere it would suck but I'm an Angels fan first and foremost.  Was long before they won their only title and will be long after.  In the meantime I'll just enjoy watching him play and hope they can right the ship. 

Some might be defending it but quite a few people here seem to be of the opinion that no one is above suspicion.  MLB seems to be leading the way amongst the 4 major US sports when it comes to PED's and not in a good way. 

Not sure about the NBA or NHL policies but the NFL has seemed to take a more hardline approach.  MLB was brought back to life after reeling from the previous lockout during the summer of 98 when Big Mac and Sosa were on PED's and chasing Maris.  As I said before in another thread I don't doubt that it was any less prevalent in the NFL but MLB took what seemed like a much weaker stance on the subject.  Regardless they at least seem to be cracking down now with the recent bans but even then they waited until after the ASB which seems like a PR move and not one out of necessity due to evidence but who knows.

Don't doubt you but after doing a couple searches a few weeks out and a month out I didn't see anything direct from John Wayne to Honolulu.  Maybe it's to another airport/island.
