  1. I don't currently have a service that carries Angels games and I have no intention of paying for one. They're my team and I'll always root for them but they're just not a product I will give my time or money to right now.
  2. I'd go with a C right now but only time will tell because these moves have to be part of the bigger picture for the franchise going forward. I was hoping Marsh would end up as an above average player under club control while the verdict is still TBD as he's had less than a season worth of AB's being below average so far. If the guy they got for him ends up becoming a legit catcher at the ML level then it's a win for the Angels. Iglesias I have no issues with them moving given what he's owed and his recent hiccups. I think he's more likely than not to correct whatever was going on but the Angels aren't going anywhere this year and I wouldn't bet on it next year either so better to offload his contract and have more money to work with. Getting anything for Thor is a win because he didn't earn an extension or the offer of one and he shouldn't be part of their plans in 2023. The Angels are a dumpster fire and honestly I don't have faith in Minasian so far but hopefully both can reverse course.
  3. 88’s a great run. RIP to a legend.
  4. I think Yankee fans would love to get rid of Gallo just so Boone couldn't slot him into the line up any more. Below average defensively in the OF and he's declined each of the last few years offensively. The only reason to do it is if the Angels want to get out of what they owe Loup for 2023.
  5. I voted no but I think they should be looking to move him if they aren't planning on extending him or if they don't think they can. With the news about Trout's back and the fact that Rendon has missed more games than he's played since signing with the Angels the franchises current outlook is pretty bleak. Things can always turn around I just don't have much faith that they will given the track record of the last so many years but I hope I'm wrong. In a perfect world the Angels wouldn't have signed Rendon and they'd be extending Ohtani but that's obviously not the case. It's almost comical how bad the Angels big FA signings have been the last 15 years.
  6. If he isn't interested in an extension they should move him during the off season when his value is more than that of a possible half season rental at next year's trade deadline. That said nothing that's been reported so far implies that they would move him then if at all even if he declines an extension and opts to hit FA.
  7. The odds of getting both a pitcher and hitter as good as Ohtani for what he will make are very slim. If you can extend him you absolutely do it and do everything possible to build a winner with him, Trout and Rendon making 110M+ annually. If he won’t sign an extension they they should trade him.

  9. Never hurts to kick the tires of players that are approaching FA and on teams performing poorly. I was curious so I looked up team salaries and winning percentage and of the top 10 team salaries (according to Sportrac) in MLB only 2 are currently under .500. The other team is the Whitesox who are 1 game below .500 and 7 games better than the Angels.

  11. You say this but you realize who would then be president right? I've had little faith in the current administration but I have even less in Kamala than I do Biden.
  12. Keeping them or shipping them to a designated location does nothing to deal with illegal immigration either. The feds fail at securing the border and the border states end up footing most of the bill. If our elected officials in Washington saw the impact of illegal immigration on their community then we'd probably see legitimate action on their part. That said that won't happen and neither side really cares about the issue enough except to use it to fire up their base.

  14. I expect someone to come up with a “Leiter and Kumar go to Texas” meme ala Harold and Kumar go to White Castle.
  15. I read one mock where the writer had them going Holliday as the thought was he may take less to sign than Jones which would give them more for later picks. Take it for what it’s worth.
  16. I don’t know most of these prospects but obviously I know about Rocker and what happened last year. That said like Second Base I would love to see the Angels grab him. If (and I know that’s a big if) his medicals don’t scare them off he could be contributing soon and he’s going to have a chip on his shoulder. The Angels need SP help and I’m guessing he’s about as ML ready as any other pitchers in the draft.
  17. Nats are a dumpster fire. I’m sure him rejecting could have something to do with his agent but he may also want out of there. Makes no sense for the Angels to go after him since it’s questionable if they can afford to extend Ohtani. Also the fact that they can’t afford to gut their system or part of the ML roster.
  18. Hard to say with different eras and modern athletes who may be capable of competing at the highest level in other sports. Jim Thorpe and Jackie Robinson were truly great athletes who competed and succeeded in multiple sports but in different eras. Bo Jackson athletically was about as gifted as they come but his career was cut short by a freak injury that was in part due to his athleticism.
  19. Guinness on tap is great and as mentioned even though the beer is dark it isn’t heavy. Never got into IPA’s or craft beer much and am fine with drinking whatever is available on the rare occasions when I do drink. Last few times we went to Vegas for football we take a few packs of white claws or trulys, load them up into backpacks filled with ice and down those at the sportsbook. Less heartburn, calories and easier to drink than beer. Anyways happy 4th.
  20. An aqueduct, some desalination plants along the coast, reservoirs and whatever else can be done. Whatever they're going to do hop to it as we did the drought dance in SoCal from 2007-2009 then again from 2012-2016 and our elected officials did absofuckinglutely nothing. I'm not an engineer and don't pretend to know what it would take to get some of these things done but there's no good reason why going back to 2007 something hasn't been done to address this. Must not be profitable enough for our elected officials despite the fact that CA exported over $20B in agriculture in 2020 and represents 13% of agriculture production in the US.
  21. I think I mentioned probably 16+ months ago in this thread that I went per your recommendation. The first time we went there was some random wind/rain that overturned a few of the umbrellas outside so everyone had to move inside but luckily we already had a spot inside watching college football. Went back a few months later and tried most of their beers. I enjoyed it more than 4 sons between the price, beers and setup. I'll definitely look to go back one of these days.
