  1. Yeah then you definitely get it. If the 2020 Redskins had a legit QB to go with their defense which allowed the 4th fewest points per game then they likely have a higher seeding and make some noise in the playoffs. Lack of a QB always makes me think of the Bears graphic they like to show during packers/bears games showing the list of QB's the bears have had vs. Favre/Rodgers in GB.
  2. They absolutely do but QB is the most important position in the NFL. No position is valued or rather over-valued more in drafts and teams that haven't been competitive for any length of time usually have a new QB every 1-2 years during that span. They need to address CB with 2 from last year now FA's, off the ball LB which has been a need for years, DL with Harris being a part of the trade, DE and OL depth. I don't think they're an immediate contender especially playing in the AFC West but I definitely like their odds to be a playoff team. Prior to acquiring Wilson they had almost $40M in cap space and I imagine they're hoping acquiring him helps them sign some FA vets on 1-2 year deals. Nothing's a given but with what they've gotten from the QB position since Manning retired I definitely think the risk is worth it. The window in the NFL for most teams is so many years because even if you have a legit QB like Seattle did eventually their stud defenders want to get paid and sometimes that's before reaching FA.
  3. Acquiring a legit QB in his prime is never cheap and rarely done in FA. Manning signing with the Broncos was an anomaly and not the norm. Denver hasn't had a legit QB since Manning retired and even in that last year his arm was toast. I'll take the overpay and chance at being competitive instead of throwing darts via rookie QB's and cheap 1 year FA signings.
  4. Rodgers signs 4 year $200M extension with GB https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/aaron-rodgers-packers-agree-to-four-year-deal-as-qb-becomes-highest-paid-player-in-nfl-history/ Russell Wilson supposedly traded to Denver https://www.nfl.com/news/broncos-acquiring-seahawks-qb-russell-wilson-in-trade-for-multiple-first-round-p As a Broncos fan I thought the Rodgers talk of him possibly ending up in Denver was setting them up for disappointment and another year of something like Bridgewater/Lock at QB or trading up for a QB in the draft who is a project. If they landed Wilson that's huge and I don't mind them giving up first/second round picks for a few years especially if he signs an extension.
  5. Maybe they can use more of that surplus on their plans for homeless housing: https://www.yahoo.com/news/la-spending-837-000-house-234756578.html
  6. This. That holding call on 55 against Kupp was terrible in a game they hadn’t thrown many flags in to that point. Congrats to the rams.
  7. Congrats Chuck good looking office and a beautiful house on a nice piece of land. Seeing others make a move like that and what they get in other parts of the country incentivizes me to want to do the same some day. Enjoy.
  8. Great games in the division and championship rounds. 5 of the 6 games were decided by 3 points while Buffalo/KC which was the best of the bunch was decided by 6.
  9. All that talk about how Donald hadn’t done much tonight then he comes up big at the biggest moment. Rams on to the Super Bowl. Congrats to them and their fans.
  10. Dropped passes, missed FG and a bad challenge. Down by 10 definitely not over but they need points on this drive. Just had to use their second TO to avoid a delay of game. Terrible.
  11. Damn good game. I did not expect Cincy to make a game of it after they went down 21-3. 2nd half and OT was pretty much all Cincy as the Chiefs offense and their fans more or less disappeared. Teams winning the coin toss under current OT rules were 10-1 in the playoffs going into the game and that’s now 10-2.
  12. Don't underestimate the ability of either side to completely fuck up what should be a lay up, especially the reps.
  13. https://www.yahoo.com/news/mom-son-duo-arrested-28-175029766.html Accused of 28 robberies targeting elderly Asians and they're out on bail the next day. Their booking pics almost look like something you'd expect out of the onion.
  14. Unfortunately for their fans they still have the same owner. The franchise is a dumpster fire.
  15. Except Roe V. Wade is a "thing" because it ended up with the highest court in the land just like many other issues. There's only 27 amendments while the last was passed almost 30 years ago. If we left certain issues to needing to be amendments our elected officials would accomplish even less than they already do.
  16. I randomly watched this on Tuesday. That guy climbed mountains as naturally as most people walk. It was crazy watching him do it in remote places where no one has ever done it before or even thought about it especially when he was doing it in frozen conditions and would take his gloves off for a better grip. He could have had cameras following him all the time and had sponsors but he was clearly doing it because that's what he enjoyed and was meant to do.
  17. I believe it but went off of what the one off Lenwood calls itself https://www.facebook.com/Original-Del-Taco-Barstow-314310107346/ The originaldeltaco.com website lists all 3 in Barstow and I'm guessing that goes back to earlier in the thread when someone said the original owner owns those 3.
  18. The original Del Taco Barstow (I think technically the original was in Yermo and closed) off Lenwood is well known for portion sizes, fresh food and good quality. It's rated quite a bit higher than the others near by on yelp and just about everyone I know has stopped there at least once on the way to Vegas with most becoming repeat customers. For me as far as fast food goes which I don't eat too often Del Taco is one of the better options and the one off Lenwood is the best I've been to.
  19. You’re right again. I get confused because they always seem to reference once the first team doesn’t score and the second team gets the ball next team to score wins. Not a fan of the coin flip outcome giving a team an advantage.
  20. You're right they still allow the team receiving the ball in OT to win without the other team getting the ball but not in the regular season. This place was falling apart while you were gone stickipedia.
  21. I remember reading after that Thomas initially didn't know that play ended the game as it was the 1st play of OT in a playoff game. A year later the NFL changed the OT rules to the current rules so that both teams get the ball. RIP.
  22. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/former-broncos-star-demaryius-thomas-dies-at-33-pro-bowl-wide-receiver-helped-denver-win-super-bowl/ 33 is way too young. I did a double take when I first saw the news last night as it didn't quite register. Really enjoyed watching him play for Denver during his career, was a key member of Denver's Super Bowl 50 winning team and always seemed like a good guy. RIP.
  23. Doubtful since they've had a front row seat to it. Politicians from both sides have taken no issue with our country outspending most of the rest of the world in military spending while our policies abroad have created more problems than they've solved. Our infrastructure is outdated and a security concern, we spend more than 2x per person than most of the rest of the world for healthcare with decreasing returns, we've off shored way too many jobs and the list goes on. On the bright side the entire world is addicted to debt and pretty much every powerful or developed country on the planet faces some of the same problems. A US president with declining mental faculties almost feels appropriate given the last 5 years in particular.
