  1. 1. Albert is healed and hits 330/360/550 for the year. 2. Garrett Richards makes 20-25 starts and is the Angels' staff ace. 3. AL Champs!!!!!!
  2. Angels claimed Blake Parker from Milwaukee. Perhaps the spot is for him?
  3. That is sick indeed. Quite sick.
  4. I think players that hit free agency in their 20's are worth the five year contracts. At least the team is getting some upside. Unfortunately, there aren't many of those because they are often locked up long-term already. It just reinforces the the overall theme of Drafting and Developing. This team can't make the mistakes of signing 30's players to long-term deals. The shelf life of the player varies too much.
  5. Totally agree. He's already moving out of the peak years and the decline is inevitable. We just don't know and personally, I would not want to spend any more future dollars on a player that is almost a sure bet to decline. There are other ways...
  6. Trailer for "Last of Us" 2. Pretty excited about this.
  7. If he'd just lose 30 pounds or so, his feet would stop hurting so damn much. Wouldn't hurt for him to run a Whole 30 for a month or two. Lard ass. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttt.
  8. Yeah. I'm slowly becoming less of a fan of the organization. Seems like a backwater organization and not very forward-thinking. Icing on the cake might be trading Trout. I was a Dodger fan until Piazza, Konerko and Pedro were traded. Stupid, stupid moves...
  9. I feel like this thread is in the homestretch.
  10. I don't care what you fellas say. Everywhere he's gone, he's always been the mane man.
  11. Did you do the research or are you paraphrasing an article? So much great information and thanks for sharing it! I teach writing to middle school students and I focus on logic in constructing arguments. One of the topics I cover is the 2012 MVP "controversy" between Trout and Cabrera's Triple Crown. I try not to sound to biased, but the numbers really end up speaking for themselves. I'm currently wondering if it would be worth it to update the lesson to 2016. I'm not sure cause 2012 could be argued either way. 2016 looks to me too one-sided.
  12. When a list of offenses and idiotic maneuverings is as long as his list, I don't think MLB will have a problem if someone cries about racism.
  13. I would say to keep Marte and run him out in LF everyday. He's cheap and can use the reps to get better. I do not believe this team can contend next year either. Soooo...hand Trout a 10 year extension now. Make it a blank check, and tell him to be patient and wait till the 2018 offseason. There will be more talent available and the farm will have another year of talent infusion. The only way this changes is if there's some fool team that just needs a salary dump, like say, The Reds with Votto.
  14. This is an obvious fact. However, knowing what little we do know of this organization, it would not surprise me in the least if they offered him a contract. As always, it's whatever Scioscia wants.
  15. What I dislike most about this argument/discussion is the never ending ambiguity put forth by the Writers Association. The association should clean up the language and clarify just what makes an MVP. Some enjoy the narrative and the thrill of playoff baseball as it relates to the Most Valuable Player, where the stories and the "eye test" is the determining factor. I believe that the statistics filter out the inherent subjectivity of the writers and should be highly influential in their decision-making process. However, that, once again, is the domain of the Writer's Association to fully empower its members.
  16. Small Sample Size. Wait a week or so and then reevaluate.
  17. Depends on what other teams are willing to give up to get him.
  18. He didn't really do a very good job. He's had multiple years to bring in talent and has almost universally failed. My question is what were his limitations from El Cheapo? Bill Shaikin tweeted that only two players drafted under Wilson have positive WAR. If true, that's horrendous.
  19. I'd like to see a clear, logical, creative plan that addresses the long-term health and stability of the minor leagues as a pool with which to consistently replenish the major league team in order to avoid feast and famine decades.
  20. Scioscia's a genius. The dude brought us a Series win in '02 and multiple playoff years in the last ten years. He can't help it if his general managers are crap. HOF Manager we're watching! That outta kick off the shit storm!
