  1. He's fine, people. He helps us lose legitimately. It's not "tanking" if your pitchers are trying. June 2017 Draft one year away! Protected pick, here we come!!!
  2. I would add that while they seemed to have stalled, we can't always attribute it to their lack of talent. Rather, their lack of development could be part of the San Diego organization's inability to teach and develop players. There are many variables to consider before we say one team or another "won" a trade. I'd say that it is still too soon to evaluate this trade. Too easy and right now it's just argument from ignorance.
  3. I agree. I'm not seeing a "championship level team". I'd add Calhoun and Lincecum, and Shoemaker and Santiago if these guys could build value in the next month.
  4. Albert Pujols: 160/180 players. Only Angel worse: CJ Cron at 169/180. Awesome.
  5. Just finished Uncharted 4. GOAT for me. My previous was Last of Us. I think Uncharted was better because I had already established a relationship with the characters and the script played on that a little. Overall, the gameplay was familiar and it was easy to get adjusted. A few new moves to learn but they were pretty easy. I really liked the story line and it really tied up the story neatly in the end.
  6. "Crane technique...If do right, no can defense."
  7. Yep. I will always put this disaster of a club on Arte's shoulders.
  8. Thanks for the link! I'm listening right now. So far good stuff!
  9. I've had it too for years. Initially from poor form with weights. Surgery was an option for my shoulder. I had done rehab for three months and it wasn't getting better. Turns out the tendon in the shoulder goes through a very small cavity and I had a build up of scar tissue that restricted the tendon from proper movement. I was on my last go-round with rehab and gave it one more month and it finally worked. I have to be very careful about form and prevention.
  10. I can't harsh on Pujols too much. I'm 46 and I hit just like that.
  11. lol yeah. Take a pay cut AND move to a place with a higher cost of living. I like how some of these places with high costs of living are willing to bus teachers to their city or build and pay for apartment housing for teachers to come and teach. Like migrant teachers. **** that. Pay 'em what they're worth.
  12. I'd suggest leaving the terrace. You will not have as many drainage issues. I'd also suggest the dry stacked stone walls. They're cheap and as long as they're not too high, they won't require permits but will hold back the soil. Furthermore, I'd suggest picking plantings that go with your home's architectural style. A safe bet are Mediterranean plantings. They're drought tolerant when mature and bloom often. I"d not put any type of vegetative ground cover. As some have stated, they tend to overwhelm the space and are natural hiding spaces for vermin. I do use landscape fabric and because of the drip system, I don't have any problems with weeds. Or rarely. Others stated that putting 1 1/2 inches or so of mulch does the same thing. I agree. However, natural mulch biodegrades over time and can fly away during windy periods, both of which, if untended, will lead to weeds. I prefer to cover my fabric with 3/8 pea gravel. It's heavy and permanent and fits well with the Mediterranean landscape that I prefer.
  13. GnR multiple times. Monsters of Rock was the last time (Rose Bowl). They we just so bad ass! I have tickets to Quaalcom in August. Looking forward to it. Beck a couple of years back in L.A somewhere. Fun concert. Jack White three times. Great musician and entertaining. First time was White Stripes at the San Diego Street Scene. Saw Sonic Youth there and Black Eyed Peas as well. Fergie pissed her pants at that concert. Big wet trail down her thighs.
  14. It's too bad Wood's contact rates sucked. The strikeouts are forgivable in today's game, but he could never get on a roll. I feel that if he'd had some early success, he might have stuck around. Too bad...
  15. Yeah. I just googled "anti-progress" and I got exactly what I was looking for about flat taxes. Smokescreen apparently. Thanks again, all!
  16. Can anyone tell me what's wrong with a flat tax system? One where EVERYBODY pays the same. No exclusions, exemptions or write-offs? Hell, throw business tax in there too. I don't know enough about this to have an honest answer so I'm really looking for both sides of the issue. Thanks.
  17. Agree. Very sad. The drug usage seemed extremely out of character.
  18. Sounds like the biggest issue is communication. Williams should be criticized for his lack of communication and the way he handled this given the preexisting agreement. I'm also sure that the player deserves criticism for his "all or nothing" approach. If he was interested in compromise, I'm sure something could be worked out. It's difficult to truly understand because I am not part of the clubhouse and know nothing of the culture. I don't believe that I can simply say, "In my job I can or can't ..." because they are different with different rules and expectations.
  19. This argument reads like a day in Congress. In the end, nothing will be accomplished.
