  1. It's so great that we love this team so much that we get this pissed off. Well done lads and ladies!
  2. Underwhelming and lacking creativity. It's what I've come to expect from this front office.
  3. One to the bullpen? Another starting pitcher getting traded?
  4. Currently, the Angels are EIGHTH in reverse standings. They're playing too damn well!
  5. As of the close of games yesterday, Fangraphs shows the Angels a .2% (yes, PERCENT) of winning the division or making a wild card spot. POINT TWO PERCENT. http://www.fangraphs.com/coolstandings.aspx This pole is difficult for me to answer. I believe it's a loaded question, really. I think we will all say "Playoffs" cause, as somebody stated, that's the goal. However, this is not a data-based end result. The reality is that the Angels should sell and get what they can for the future. If I allow myself to dream, though, it would truly be the biggest comeback in the history of the sport and super awesome.
  6. I'd probably say no, although we will know a lot more about the organization's direction within the next few days. My guess is that they trade some relievers and keep everyone else and perhaps make a run at Trumbo. I'd think they would be more comfortable with Reddick, however. He's one of the guys that is on the trading block and if he is traded, he won't come with a qualifying offer. For the Angels, if they have a protected pick, it's a no brainer to make a serious run at Reddick. (It's like two free agent signings for freeeeeee!) Also, when considering their overall value, I'd say Reddick fits the Angels better from a defensive standpoint. Trumbo won't be very good in left field at Angel Stadium. Again.
  7. Yeah. This. Huge cost for what, 18-20 innings for the rest of the year? At these prices, it's really worth it to see what every Angel is worth, including guys like Shoemaker and Calhoun. Just those two guys could get us 3-4 everyday players with six years each of control. I don't like punting this season and next, but it might be worth it.
  8. Seems to me he's worth a flyer. Try to sign him for next year at a reduced value cause he sucking. Next year, he gets the opportunity to rebuild his value and the Angels either extend him or trade him for parts at next year's deadline. No down side really, especially given the historically volatile nature of reliever performance.
  9. Keep him. We'll need some bodies throwing a ball to the catcher. He also enhances our draft positioning.
  10. Yep. We're stuck with him. But yeah, I figured about 50% to find a taker, 60-70% for some good prospects to throw in.
  11. I agree. The contents of the block of text seemed a bit of selection bias, but whatever. Without looking it up, I have no idea either what Kendrick is doing with the Dodgers. Don't really care, I guess. Ugh...I drank too much last night and I am definitely regretting it.
  12. This is why everyone needs to be on the table except Trout. As a thought exercise, how much money would the Angels have to kick in to trade Pujols? In a better lineup that he doesn't have to carry, he could fit in nicely. Also, how much to kick in to get some decent prospects?
  13. How about a little paragraphing? It's difficult to read.
  14. No no no! Es Sony guts, bro. Es Sony guts! Es a good deal!
  15. This also impacts the ability to trade starters. This team will need every able bodied pitcher it can get for next year. Might as well keep them all and hope for better health next year. Also increases the likelihood that they work something out with Weaver.
  16. On International Signing Day (July 2), the Angels have signed one guy out of the Dominican Republic for 150k. Are the Angels still in the two year penalty phase? Anyone know?
  17. "So then, with his little pitcher's panties in a bunch, he announces to the world he's quitting!!" "Can you believe that? HE JUST UP AND QUITS!" "LOLOLOLOL"
  18. YANKEES SUCK! So Cameron resigned, (not "re-signed") today. Does this further shake up Britain's future? Thanks for the analogy, by the way.
  19. If that dude had hustled, he woulda had 12 RBIs easy! Lollygagger.
  20. Perhaps I was being unclear. Sorry about just throwing it up there without context. The only reason I used Arreita within the text is to illustrate how he (Arrieta) "figured it out" after leaving the Orioles and landing with the Cubs. That's the "big IF". I did not intend to compare their entire body of work.
  21. I knew that Shoemaker had been pitching well. I just didn't understand how well. Fangraphs: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/the-angels-have-had-a-month-of-clayton-kershaw/ Earlier I had referenced Jake Arrieta. If (and it's a big IF,) he's really figured something out, this guy could be huge.
  22. This I agree with. When I think of Shoe, I think of Jake Arrieta who was given away by Baltimore. WHAT IF Shoemaker figured it out?? But it could just be a hot streak too. I dunno...
