    OK, Some ideas

    1. NYC-anything nice is going to be too expensive. Prices just keep going up

    2. Hoboken NJ- Just across the river from NYC. This town is like another borough of NYC. You can get across the river very easy, either by ferry or subway. LOTS of restaurants, bars and clubs, and a lot to choose from for apartments. Your age group is the majority in this city. Rent will be much less than across the Hudson, and there are probably a lot of people looking for roommates.  Do not rent ground floor since Hoboken is low elevation, and can flood with extreme weather. http://www.hobokennj.org/visit/what-to-do/

    3. Rutherford and Montclair NJ- These two towns both offer much of what Hoboken has, but on a smaller scale, with a little more suburban feel. Both have train stations with quick access to NYC, but are a little more car friendly than Hoboken. Apartments here will be less expensive than Hoboken. Both have great parks and recreation facilities.

    4. Morristown and New Brunswick NJ- A little farther from NYC, but you can still get there in under one hour. Both are a good mix between urban and suburban, and have trains right to NYC.

    5. Red Bank NJ- Close to the beach, and a very happening downtown. Nice spot. You can be in NYC in about 40 minutes, and to Atlantic City in a little over an hour.

Is there anything you like to do that would help with location? (ski, beach, golf, shop, bike, etc...)

If you have any specific questions, fire away. I will do my best to help you.

Providence is cool but driving through CT on I-95 is as frustrating as watching CJ pitch to a power hitting righty.

Yeah, I was going to say mid to upper NJ. Talk to a chick regularly from there and one night we broke down the whole map and routes to everything.
An hour or so from NYC, you have the beach, Philly isn't too far, and everyone sleeps on Providence which is a blast.

    I appreciate the help, NJ.

I'll be moving out there by myself. My boss is cool enough to let me keep my job and work from home until I get something else lined up out there.

I'm undecided if I'll swing a place myself or try to get some roommates. Probably go the roommate route to make it a little easier financially. I think I'd prefer the suburbs since thats what I'm used to and I gotta imagine its cheaper. Also, would be cool to be around some people my age in their early to mid 20s to be easier to adapt. I'll have my car with me, but I wouldn't mind the mass transit. I just want to be within a reasonable distance from the city or at least some type of entertainment hah.

I like the idea of Millville lol.

Cory, I would be glad to help you if you can give me a little info:

Are you by yourself? Do you have work lined up? Do you want to buy or rent? What would your budget be?

Do you want to rely on mass transit, or drive a car? Do you want city, suburbs, rural, beach, etc..

I know NJ gets a bad rap, but it offers everything in a small package.

Might as well throw the Teixeira into the discussion. Arte had thought that he had the inside track on extending Tex, but the Yanks came in under the radar and took him. I know the draft pick got us Trout, but we would have taken him with out pick one spot earlier. He was our guy.
Imagine the chain reaction here if only Mrs Teixeira kept her mouth shut.

Mariano spends about 15 minutes to speak with FANS of the home team. He was also asked to throw out the first pitch when facing the Mets in Citi Field. I find it laughable that fans are getting pissy over a trading card giveaway. They aren't honoring a just a Yankee, but one of the greatest pitchers of our generation.

I try to do this same trip every other year. We try to time it with the Yanks visit since my wife and younger daughter are Yankees fans.

Last year we stayed in the Marriott Newport Coast Villas and loved it. We did all the usual suspects, Disneyland, Crystal Cove, etc...

One of the things my gang liked the best was the Warner Brothers VIP studio tour. It is a small, personalized tour. Only my 4 and one other couple. You tour the studios on a golf cart with a guide taking you to what you are interested in seeing. Spent a lot of time there and on the set of Big Bang Theory. Almost crashed into Russell Brand.

You might want to give Fritz another shot. I found it worth the trip.

NJHalo reacted to Ohtaniland in Should Dipoto go before Scioscia?
No one gets fired because they're all responsible. Arte went after the big splashes and they've failed him. Dipoto handled the smaller acquisitions and that failed. Scioscia looks worn out and less interested since Dipoto took the reigns. The players themselves with the exception of Mike Trout failed to match their own hype. This is a shared blame situation and Arte knows it.

"A married couple from Vernon and their 6-year-old son were inside a Jeep on Saturday afternoon when it veered off the steepest of Mountain Creek's 42 ski trails and flipped over about 20 times while tumbling 500 feet down the mountain, authorities said Monday. ***"

Interesting story from the guy who witnessed this, then ran up to rescue...he stumbled on a rather large bear just before he got to the jeep!
"As if getting to the site was not sufficiently challenging, Hayes first had to evade a large bear, near what turned out to be the crash site."
This guy is bad ass. He witnessed the crash ... started running up a steep slope of boulders, evaded a bear, rescued injured people in jeep. Probably not the day he was planning on having

I have a hard time feeling bad for billionaires who make bad investments. We can only hope that Arte has learned his lesson and will keep out of making baseball decisions, which he's clearly bad at.

if not for the CBA letting them off the hook the org would be in pretty rough spots.

As the resident Rangers fan I have to say I am not happy about it, but I understand. I think he lost the team, and was not developing the younger talent on the team.
I think the final nail in the coffin was Lunquist's remarks yesterday when asked about signing an extension. He did not sound positive, and was talking about the Rangers in past tense. He did everything he could to win, and is getting frustrated by the lack of scoring, thanks to Torts defense first system.
Tort's system of having everyone block shots wears thin quickly, and it is a challenge to sign free agents that want to score goals, not play goalie without pads. The Rangers have a deep, talented team thanks to Slats smart drafting and some good trades, so the next coach walks into an ideal situation. This is a very highly desirable job, I hope Sather takes his time and makes the right choice.
Torts was a strange guy, and had a polarizing personality. He was cool one second, and an A-hole the next. The time I met him, he could not have been nicer. He did A LOT to help out after Hurricane Sandy, and did not get the credit he deserved.
As mentioned before, the Tort's on HBO last year was great TV.
