Don reacted to Tank in POLL: In your opinion is Anthony Rendon officially a bust?
start slow.
heat up and be productive.
get injured and miss a bunch of games, then start over.
this has been his cycle here. he hits well when he plays, but he can't stay on the field. not calling him a bust yet, but it's about a quarter to midnight on his clock.

I'm not singling you out, but I'm not sure what anyone has seen from Rendon the past 3 years that leads them to believe this is possible.
Guy has been a constant question mark when it comes to consistency, look at these injuries:
2020: Oblique
2021: Left Groin
2021: Knee
2021: Triceps
2021: Hip
2022: Wrist
This latest wrist issue is just another feather in his cap, and it's not going to go away which means he's prone to be out of the lineup anytime he "aggravates" it, which could happen basically anytime he plays.
We'll be lucky if he ever has a 100 game season with us. I don't see him getting better.
For what he's been paid and what he's going to be paid? BUST!

Don got a reaction from bloodbrother in Anthony Rendon removed from the game after re-aggravating right wrist injury
Fully agreed there. In an org with reasonable depth, Velasquez is minor league depth or the last guy on the bench as a late-inning defensive replacement.

Yup, until he proves otherwise. The greatest ability is availability.

Don got a reaction from Jason in Velazquez offensively
Nah, it's still a problem. Just a more tolerable one in that scenario.

Don got a reaction from HeavenlyHalos in Gameday Thread (6/14/22): Angels @ Dodgers - Ward back and leading off
Pretty shitty AB there. Complaining about calls that were clearly strikes, and keeping the bat on his shoulder when they desperately needed a hit. Just gave the AB away.

Don got a reaction from Taylor in And in Crazy Train news.
Sweet. I think that $4.2B might actually put this thing over the hump. I know it's been a long, arduous journey; but how can anyone really put a price, either monetary or temporal, on getting from Palmdale to Bakersfield slightly faster than normal?

Don got a reaction from HanfordGuy in When Will You See Top Gun: Maverick?
To be fair, if a critic gives this movie a negative review, they’re probably a terrorist. A card-carrying commie at the very least.

These guys have zero balls.

Don got a reaction from halonatic13 in Angels fire Joe Maddon, name Phil Nevin interim manager
But if we ended up firing Showalter there's a very good chance we'd win a title the next year.

Yeah, I doubt it changes anything really. I've heard Nevin is a bit of a douche from a few people over the years, but I doubt that affects his ability to win baseball games much. That said, if you lose 12 straight, especially the way the Angels have been losing, somebody has to take the blame.

I totally agree. And it sure isn't gong to be the bosses taking the blame, even if that is where blame, or at least some blame, lies.

Yeah, I live in KC. I'll probably be going to a couple games during that series. Might have some family flying out to attend as well.

Don got a reaction from Torridd in Already 1/4 of the season is done! What are your grades for the team and players?
If you told me in late March that this team would be 24-16 through 40 games I would’ve been ecstatic.
