To compound the potential issues for next year: we have no idea how they are planning on using Ohtani.
If they continue with the every 6th game starting, sure you get a little more of his hitting but not only do you only get 25 starts from him instead of 31-32, you also have to find a 6th starter.  If you pick up a new #1 in the offseason, will they pitch him every 6th also or try some weird hybrid thing having some of the patchers every 5th and some on the 6th. 
If the go for every 5th, can Ohtani handle that?  Also you only get his hitting 2 out of every 5 games and more 1 year older pujols.
Ohtani will help with the rotation but he is not the solution, his addition to the rotation also weakens the offense significantly.

The mariners might be the worst team in baseball right now.  A sweep should be expected, even for a mediocre team.

What about conspiracy theory #2 about him.  The PEDs. Dominican born player comes out of nowhere to become the best hitter in a decade, on the Tony Larussa led cardinals.  Didnt an announcer get in trouble for saying he did peds?  (Jack Clark?)

Once again,  ridiculous that Ohtani is giving up at bats to Pujols.  The season is over, the games mean very little except for draft status.  I don't care if Pujols has to sit and Marte plays.  They need to get Ohtani in there versus lefties.  How is he supposed to work on it if they never play him against lefties?

Uh, did you notice that the A's are currently in the second wild card spot and playing pretty darn good ball right now.  You think the Mariners are going to pull it out?  One or the other is making it.

As just a baseball fan one of my growing pet peeves is pitchers (and more specifically relief pitchers) walking lead off guys with multi run leads.  A reds reliever walked the first two today with a three run lead, both nobodies too.  Both these guys ended up scoring as the 3 run lead went away.  Not a fan of either team but still get frustrated for crap like that.

I love how people just say to trade for people without realizing that there isn’t much to trade.  Who wants valbuena and a .220 hitting Kinsler.  Any trades further undermines the angels already underwhelming minors pipeline.  Think for the future, lost year.  

Yeah their bullpen is stellar.

And the last pitch there was a strike.  Umps handing one to the angels now, just gotta take it. 

Why sweat this early in the season, getting into the playoffs at least should not be that hard.
 
The Orioles, Tigers, White Sox, Twins, Royals and Rangers are all out of it already.
 
Division Winners:  Red Sox/Yankees, Indians, Astros.
 
One Wild card will the the other Red Sox/Yankees non division winner.
 
Fighting for the last will card with the A's, Mariners, Rays, Blue Jays.
 
The Angels seem the least flawed of all those teams.  The most competition will come from in the division, just need to focus on winning there.  Already a good start.
