Trout is the most productive hitter in the lineup, and arguably in the AL. You want to put him in a position to bat with more runners on base, not less. The issue isn't Trout hitting 3rd, the issue is the guys batting in front of Trout.

Theoretically no but practically yes. We have to win two out of three at a minimum and running out Weaver and Blantiago means I have zero faith we'll do that. But even if we do, we probably still don't make it.

I love how when we are losing, Interleague is stupid.  But when we were making the playoffs in the early 2000's, and dominating the NL, interleague was the greatest thing.

Yes. Looking at the result of a 20 game sample is always more valuable than looking at the results of a 121 game sample when trying to determine the true quality of the product on the field.

OK, I get this is a personal matter...then why not keep it personal.  Does the public need to know anything beyond that he left the team for family reasons? Why a press conference to basically just raise more speculation?

This is the way I see it. Once the team has sold the ticket they have received their revenue for it, and they are not entitled to squat if the ticket is resold, nor should they be able to dictate how it is resold or to whom. The Honda analogy in the story is appropriate. Would you buy a house, for instance, if as a condition of the sale the previous owners insisted on telling you who you must use to resell it and insisted on a cut of the resale price, and the resale was subject to their approval? Once you have sold something it is gone, and you have relinquished all rights to decide what happens to it.
